Tom Cruise’s daughter Suri is going by a new last name.

At her graduation Friday from LaGuardia High School in New York City, the 18-year-old opted to give her name as “Suri Noelle” instead of Suri Cruise; she also used that name earlier this year when she appeared in a high school production of the jukebox musical “Head Over Heels.” Noelle is the middle name of her mother, Katie Holmes.

The “Risky Business” actor appears to have skipped Suri’s graduation weekend to hang out instead Saturday with all the celebs at Taylor Swift’s Eras tour in London , where he is filming another “Mission: Impossible” installment.

Holmes and Suri didn’t seem bothered by his absence on graduation day. The mother-daughter duo, perhaps eager to “shake it off,” were seen giggling and taking photos together outside of the graduation venue in celebration of Suri’s achievement.

Suri was born in 2006, just before her parents tied the knot. TomKat stayed together until 2012, when Holmes filed for divorce , but Cruise was plagued by rumors that he had abandoned Suri in the process. In a 2013 defamation lawsuit filed by Cruise against Life & Style and In Touch publisher Bauer Publishing, the “Mission: Impossible” actor said, “The assertion that I ‘abandoned’ Suri after my divorce is patently false. I have in no way cut Suri out of my life — whether physically, emotionally, financially or otherwise.”

Cruise said he and Suri, who was then 6, “spoke on the phone nearly every day” and that he “regularly asked for and received updates concerning her friends and school life.”

Cruise is also the father of Bella, 31, and Connor, 29, whom he adopted with Nicole Kidman when they were married. Last year, he was photographed in public with Bella and Connor, reportedly for the first time in 15 years.

In a September 2013 deposition for the case, the Hollywood mega-star explained his objections to reports by In Touch that said he had cut ties with a then-7-year-old Suri after Holmes divorced him in 2012. He took issue with the publication claiming that he, a top celebrity member of Scientology, had chosen the church over his daughter “for good.”

“‘Abandoned by Daddy,'” Cruise said angrily in the deposition, referring to the headline of the story. “I mean, come on, that is absolutely disgusting. That is absolutely disgusting.”

But as Queen Elizabeth II once famously said about “recollections,” definitions of “abandonment” also may vary in this situation. In a report this week, The Sun quoted insiders who said that Cruise has not seen his daughter in 11 years.

Allegations of “abandonment” returned last weekend as Cruise let himself be photographed at one of Taylor Swift’s sold-out “Eras Tour” performances at Wembley Stadium in London. The “Top Gun” actor was seen exchanging friendship bracelets, hanging out with NFL star Travis Kelce and dancing to Swift’s music in the VIP seats.

But the night before, Cruise very publicly missed a major milestone in Suri’s life: her graduation from the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts in New York City.

Cruise’s absence from Suri’s graduation made headlines. And then came more headlines about the 18-year-old dropping her father’s surname for the ceremony. She instead used the name “Siri Noelle.”

Sources told Page Six that the new name was a tribute to her mother. Noelle is Katie Holmes’ middle name, and Holmes has essentially raised Suri as a single parent in New York City since her divorce from Cruise.

It’s not clear whether Suri has gone to court to make the name change official, Page Six said. A source told the publication that Suri dropped her father’s surname because she wants her “own identity” and to “start fresh at college.”

But Suri’s new name choice also could be seen as a rebuke of her famous father — a sign that she has, in her way, abandoned him.

Tony Ortega, a journalist who covers Scientology, called Cruise out this week for “abandonment,” following reports about the actor going to Swift’s concert but not his daughter’s graduation. In an email newsletter for his Underground Bunker newsletter, Ortega said that choices Cruise has made over the past 12 years show that his “abandonment” of his daughter is “even worse than most people realize.”

Cruise and Holmes began dating in 2005, became parents to Suri in the spring of 2006 and married later that year in a ceremony at an Italian castle that was  attended by a number of high-profile Scientologists, including church leader David Miscavige.

Early in the marriage, Holmes was very involved in the church, which is said to exert a cult-like control over its members, Ortega said. But her interest in building her life around Scientology teachings cooled over the next six years, Ortega said. As Holmes was raising Suri, she also was getting to know Cruise’s older children, Isabella and Connor, whose mother is Nicole Kidman. Like Holmes, Kidman was initially very involved in the organization, but the Oscar winner’s interest similarly waned before her split from Cruise in 2001.

Isabella and Connor ended up living with Cruise following the divorce, where they were home-schooled and taught that Kidman was a “suppressive person,” or an SP, someone who is viewed as hostile to Scientology, according to a 2012 investigative story by Vanity Fair.

Holmes would have become aware that Scientology’s indoctrination for Suri would begin after her sixth birthday, Ortega reported. It’s no coincidence that Holmes decided to leave Cruise in 2012, around the time Suri turned six, The Sun also reported.

Cruise admitted he “didn’t expect” Holmes to file for divorce; the divorce proceeded quickly with the ex-spouses reaching a settlement within 11 days. The Sun reported that Cruise was granted sole custody of Suri. Under the terms of the settlement, Cruise also was required to pay $400,000 a year to help with her upbringing. There’s been no reporting that Cruise didn’t fulfill this obligation.

Holmes’ decision to leave the marriage, seek primary custody of Suri and enroll their daughter in private school caused “a massive public relations disaster” for Cruise and for Scientology, according to Ortega and Vanity Fair.

Holmes’ actions “would be automatic grounds for disconnection” from the church and Scientology members “if she were married to any other Scientologist,” Vanity Fair reported. But Cruise was given the option to maintain ties with his daughter, because of his celebrity status within the church, according to Ortega and Variety Fair.

To what extent Cruise maintained a relationship with his daughter became the chief source of contention in the actor’s lawsuit against In Touch and its owner, Bauer Publishing, according to The Hollywood Reporter . In his deposition, Cruise said he never “cut Suri out of my life — whether physically, emotionally, financially or otherwise.

Cruise acknowledged that he didn’t get to see often since the divorce. He said it was difficult to arrange visits around his film shoots and Holmes’ schedule.

“Certainly what doesn’t change is the love that I have for my daughter, and that I didn’t abandon her emotionally, physically or otherwise,” Cruise said. “And in terms of how I feel about her in terms of the responsibility that I feel towards my child is not—(has) not waned in any way.”

Several weeks after Cruise’s deposition became public, the actor settled his lawsuit with Bauer Publishing in December 2013, the Hollywood Reporter said. Terms of the settlement were not released, but Bauer Publishing released a joint statement with Cruise’s attorneys. The statement said that the publisher “never intended to communicate that Tom Cruise had cut off all ties and abandoned his daughter, Suri, and regret if anyone drew that inference from anything they published.”

Since then, there have been multiple reports over the years, saying that Cruise doesn’t see his daughter. The Sun’s report suggested that their visits ended around around 2013.

In his newsletter, Ortega took issue with Cruise’s alleged choice to Suri out of his life, even as he apparently enjoyed an exception in Scientology. Ortega said he could ignore rules that apply to most members, who are told to disconnect from family and friends who are non-believers,  Ortega said.

“Even if Scientology had formally declared Katie to be an enemy, Tom Cruise is not a regular Scientology member,” Ortega said. “He’s a celebrity. And in fact, the most important Scientology celebrity of all time. And as a celebrity, Tom would have the ability to ignore those rules and continue to see both Katie and Suri if he wanted to.”

“But that’s not what happened,” Ortega said. “As the years passed after that 2012 split, it became more and more obvious that Tom had completely cut Katie and Suri out of his life.”

Ortega believes that Cruise in fact chose Scientology over his own daughter, even after the actor denied doing so in 2012. Cruise did so because he’s convinced that the late Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard “is the greatest human being who ever lived” and that Hubbard’s “technology” is the only thing that will “save” this planet, Ortega said.

Cruise would therefore want to maintain his relationship with Scientology, even if it meant not having one with his daughter, Ortega said. But the journalist offered another reason that Cruise cut ties with Suri when he didn’t have to.

In Ortega’s view, Cruise is not an admirable person, not as he’s often portrayed in positive press accounts. Ortega actually used more blunt terms to describe Cruise and insisted that the media is “always too afraid” to call him out.

Suri Cruise has announced the next big step in her life as she’s set to attend the prestigious Carnegie Mellon University in September.

Suri , 18, the daughter of Hollywood icons Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, revealed the news in a rare TikTok post where she and a group of friends each wore a sweatshirt from their chosen college.

The video, set to the tune of Abbi Sutphen’s Always Remember You, has the caption: ‘LaG commitment day.’

Carnegie Mellon’s School of Design is one of the oldest and most highly ranked programs in the US, and it’s believed the 18-year-old is leaning towards studying fashion .

‘She is a smart girl, and she is turning into a very intelligent mature young woman,’ an insider told the Daily Mail .

‘She has a very close group of loyal friends, and she knows exactly where she comes from.’

Top Gun icon Tom, 61, and Dawson’s Creek’s Katie, 45, welcomed Suri on April 18, 2006, the anniversary of their first date.

Suri is reportedly extremely close to her mum, but it’s believed she hasn’t seen her dad for 11 years .

It’s claimed that the Mission Impossible actor helps his daughter financially, but no longer sees her after he and Katie divorced in 2012 and she left the Church of Scientology.

Tom also has two children from his marriage to Nicole Kidman – Isabella, 31, and Connor, 29 – who he is believed to see regularly and are both members of the Scientology church .

Their divorce settlement stated that the actor agreed to pay his ex-wife $400,000 (£314,200) a year until Suri turned 18, and he will pay for all her college fees.

The agreement states that although he might not see his daughter, he has to cover ‘medical, dental, insurance, education, college and other extracurricular costs.’

Around the time of the divorce was the last time Tom was publicly pictured with Suri, taking her to Disney World in 2012.

At the time, a spokesperson said: ‘Kate has filed for divorce and Tom is deeply saddened and is concentrating on his three children.’

It’s reported that Tom has not seen Suri in the 10 years since, with the pair being no contact for the last three years.

A source told Heat magazine: ‘Tom is feeling guilty about missing so much of her life, but insists that he hasn’t completely shut Suri out of his life, and does get updates from time to time.’

Katie has not commented on Tom’s relationship with their daughter and has stressed the importance of allowing Suri to maintain her privacy.

Suri Cruise , daughter of actors Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise , is officially a high school grad.

On Friday, Suri received her diploma from LaGuardia High School in a ceremony held at United Palace, a theater in New York’s Washington Heights neighborhood. Her famous mom was there to celebrate the moment, and beamed with pride as she hugged her daughter and posed for photos.

Holmes looked chic in a cream long-sleeved polo and tan pleated trousers, which she paired with shiny silver kitten heels, tortoiseshell sunglasses, and a beige Celine handbag. In pictures obtained by Page Six , 18-year-old Suri can be seen wearing a red graduation gown over a summery white midi dress. The teen carried a matching red graduation cap in her hand as she walked down the street in strappy gold heels with a red floral detail.

Suri’s estranged father , Cruise, did not attend the event. Instead, he was spotted at Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour show in London. According to Page Six, Suri seems to have dropped her famous father’s last name entirely, going by “Suri Noelle” in the graduation ceremony’s pamphlet. As previously reported , the two have not spoken in several years due to Cruise’s long involvement with the Church of Scientology.

But Suri is incredibly close with her mother. The duo can often seen exploring the city together, wearing coordinating outfits and grabbing coffee. “You’d struggle to find a mom-daughter duo who are more in sync with each other. They’re a real team—their connection is a beautiful thing to witness,” an inside source told US Weekly in 2020.

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes’ daughter Suri is nearly 18-years old, which in many cases means that child support payments end. But it appears the actor has already agreed to cover Suri’s expenses beyond her legal birthday, including those related to health and college.

When Tom and Katie split in 2023, it only took them weeks to finalize a divorce settlement and custody arrangement, which seemed to give the Dawson’s Creek actress primary custody of their daughter. Tom allegedly hasn’t seen Suri in over a decade following the divorce.

Nonetheless, he’s been paying a reported $33,000 per month in child support (equalling around $400,000 per year).

But their divorce and custody settlement apparently also requires Tom to pay for their daughter’s beyond her 18th birthday, including those related to health and education.

Suri is expected to start college sometime next year when she turns 18 in April. There have been reports that the teen wants to study fashion in New York, where she resides with her mother. Tom will reportedly have no say in where she attends, despite having to foot the tuition bill.

Tom has a significantly larger fortune that his ex-wife, explaining why he was likely so ready to take on the financial obligations of paying for Suri’s college. Tom Cruise’s net worth is reportedly $600 million , while Katie Holmes’ net worth is approximately $25 million .

Tom and Suri allegedly have no contact, though he financially supports his daughter. However, that may change, as it’s been reported that Tom may be distancing himself from the Church of Scientology .

It's been speculated that Tom’s religion played a part in his divorce from Katie. Rumors suggest she may have agreed to stay silent about what she knows of the mysterious religion in exchange for Tom providing for their daughter while agreeing to be a minimal influence in her life. To this day, Katie has never publicly discussed her marriage to Tom nor her involvement in Scientology. She’s reportedly been raising Suri Catholic , even sending her to a private school.

Tom has two older children, Isabella and Connor, with his other ex-wife Nicole Kidman, who has also been hesitant to speak on Scientology. Their children remain active members of the church, with Isabella even promoted to an Auditor in 2019 . The graphic designer credits the controversial religion for saving her life.

So far, Tom has not responded to rumors about him quitting Scientology or where his relationship stands with his youngest daughter.

Katie Holmes is celebrating her mini-me daughter Suri Cruise 's birthday with some rare pictures.

To celebrate her daughter turning 15 on Sunday, Holmes, who is famously private about the teen, posted three Instagram photos of Suri taken throughout the years. Homes shares the teen with ex-husband Tom Cruise , to whom she was married from 2006 to 2012.

In one of the pictures, Holmes cradles her look-alike daughter in arms. In another, Suri smiles for the camera while giving mom a big hug.

"Hobbies such as sewing, painting and writing became new hallmarks of satisfaction and having had time at home to just be," she wrote. "To listen. To live for a moment in time without the pressure of results and instead appreciate the natural rhythms of mother and daughter was the most precious gift."

Katie Holmes  and Tom Cruise 's daughter has a new moniker. 

During her high school graduation, the former couples' daughter was listed among her fellow graduates without her father's surname, instead being referred to as " Suri Noelle " in photos of the pamphlet, published by Page Six . 

For the 18-year-old's special day on June 21, she wore a bright red cap and gown—complete with a stole emblazoned with "Vocals" and "Music." Under her regalia, Suri also sported a white spaghetti strap dress and a pair of kitten heels with a flower on the toe. As for Katie, she wore an all-beige getup complete with blue satin sandal heels, brown shades, and a pearl necklace. 

The mother-daughter duo hugged and posed for family photos outside of the United Palace Theatre in New York City, while also greeting other graduates and their families. 

Though Katie—who separated from Tom in 2012—has not confirmed where her daughter will be attending college in the fall, Suri did don a Carnegie Mellon sweatshirt in a TikTok shared by her classmate earlier this month.

And while Katie, 45, has yet to speak publicly of her daughter's future, she has noted how proud she is of her daughter before. 

"I'm very grateful to be a parent, to be her parent," the Dawson's Creek  alum told Glamour in April 2023. "She's an incredible person."

Meanwhile, Tom—who also shares kids Isabella , 31, and Connor , 29, with ex Nicole Kidman —was not seen celebrating with his daughter or ex June 21, but he did make his way through the crowd at Taylor Swift 's London Eras Tour show the following day. The 61-year-old, who is currently filming Mission Impossible 8 in England, exchanged friendship bracelets with fans and spent some time with Travis Kelce , Hugh Grant , Greta Gerwig and more stars in the "Karma" singer's VIP tent.

At the time of the filing, his attorney said, "Tom is a caring father who dearly loves Suri. She's a vital part of his life and always will be." Cruise and Bauer settled the lawsuit for undisclosed terms in February 2013, according to  The Hollywood Reporter .

During the lawsuit, Tom Cruise admitted in court, per  People , that he hadn't seen his youngest daughter Suri Cruise in 100 days because of work commitments (though he noted they frequently spoke on the phone). In 2016, that number had grown to 1,000 days, per InTouch . At the time, a source said , "He's disconnected from [ex-wife] Katie [Holmes], and then de facto from Suri, because of her connection to Katie. He hasn't seen her since she was 7."

Today, Suri lives in Manhattan with her mother. Per The Sun , Suri's older half-siblings Isabella and Connor are Scientologists, but she is reportedly not. In 2019, Us Weekly reported that it had been several years since Cruise had seen Suri. Even more shocking is the idea that the Church of Scientology allegedly doesn't allow relationships with parents and their children who aren't Scientologists, as one former member claimed to Us Weekly (the church disputes this, however).

Did Tom Cruise give Suri a gift for her 13th birthday party?

Tom Cruise hadn't reportedly wanted to reach out to Suri Cruise for her 13th birthday, according to Hollywood Life  in 2019. "Tom does plan to send Suri a gift and call her on her birthday," revealed an anonymous source. The source also implied that Tom has struggled with his estrangement from Suri. "As challenging as things have become for him and his daughter, he still loves her," added the source. "[He] thinks about her all the time and will recognize that she is becoming a teenager and a young woman on her big day." Furthermore, the source claimed that Tom wanted to reconcile with Suri in the future. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem as if this reconciliation has happened over the past few years.

Fortunately, Suri has a village with her mother, Katie Holmes, who has a great support system of her own. Holmes previously revealed to People that she not only has her mother, but her friends to help her raise Suri. "I lean on them," shared Holmes. "For advice, for recipes, for all of that stuff: 'What am I supposed to do? Can you come over and watch? Can you be a helping hand?'" added Holmes. "And I do have help, yes, but ... it's your baby, you know? You want to be the one who is there."

Tom Cruise will probably pay for Suri's tuition

Even though Tom Cruise and Suri Cruise don't appear to have much of a relationship, he's still going to fund her college education, according to the Daily Mail . In March 2023, the outlet reported that 16-year-old Suri — who reportedly has her heart set on studying fashion — has been scouting around with her mom to find the perfect school. Tom will pick up the tab. The outlet cited Tom and Katie Holmes' hefty divorce settlement, which included language about Suri's college expenses. "Tom has always maintained his responsibilities when it comes to financial obligations to Katie and Suri," shared a source.

Unfortunately, Brooke Shields revealed another indicator that Tom and Suri may not be on the best terms. In March, Shields spoke with People and lamented about no longer receiving one of Tom's famous Christmas cakes that he gifts to his inner circle. But Hollywood stars, like the rest of us, can be incredibly messy people. As such, even apparent nice guys like  Tom Cruise can turn out to be divisive and controversial figures . And that mess, it seems, got passed down to his kids.

Cruise has three children: Bella and Connor Cruise, whom he shared with Nicole Kidman, and Suri Noelle, his only child with Katie Holmes. "My whole life I always wanted to be a father," Cruise told Vanity Fair in 2006. "I always said to myself that my children would be able to depend on me and I would always be there for them and love them ... I'm not one of those people who believe you can spoil a child with too much love. You can never give a child too much love." Not all his kids would agree with that statement, however.

Bella and Connor Cruise witnessed their parents' bitter divorce

Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman's relationship started out as a Hollywood fairytale. The A-listers adopted two children: a daughter, Isabella Cruise (known as "Bella"), and a son, Connor Cruise, in 1992 and 1995 respectively. "I just believe, for whatever reason, that these children were meant to be in our family," Kidman told Vanity Fair shortly after adopting Connor.

But the picture-perfect marriage didn't last, and Tom filed for divorce in 2001. Bella and Connor were just 8 and 6 when their parents called it quits, a sad situation compounded by the ugliness that would follow. In court documents (via the Daily Mail ), Kidman claimed that Tom left her completely blindsided, and she begged him not to leave her. "It took me a very long time to heal," she later told DuJour . "It was a shock to my system."

Initially, it was reported that the couple would share custody of their young children. However, it has since materialized that the children remained in Cruise's care, where they were home-schooled and allegedly lived under the strict doctrine of Scientology. At one point, the kids were offered a maternal figure in the form of Tom's supposed girlfriend at the time, Nazanin Boniadi. However, as a source claimed to  Vanity Fair in 2012, Boniadi's relationship with Cruise never really got off the ground. Cruise eventually iced her out and she disappeared from the children's lives. According to the source, Connor and Bella wondered when she would be coming back.

Bella Cruise has suffered from personal turmoil

In 2019, it was revealed that Bella Cruise had become a Scientology auditor. According to the Church of Scientology, an auditor enables prospective adherents of the religion to reach their full potential through "helping the individual rid himself of any spiritual disabilities and (2) increasing individual abilities." It's a practice that has been subject to intense criticism, with former members alleging that auditing is a means of extracting thousands of dollars from individuals, while offering them false promises of spiritual enlightenment.

Before becoming an auditor, Cruise suffered from a series of personal issues. But undergoing an intense auditing course apparently helped relieve her of her inner turmoil. "I would have drowned in my own problems if you hadn't been there to sup me or get me through the preliminaries," she wrote in an email obtained by The Underground Bunker . "And every other single person from the C/S to the Qualifications Sec, who has taken even just a minute of time to help me get through." It's unclear what these personal problems were, but it was previously claimed that she was keen to escape the trappings of Hollywood.

She described undergoing drillings and corrections, which she declared were just what she needed. "Now that she's trained as an auditor, she'll be able to do the questioning involved in auditing," Tony Ortega, who runs The Underground Bunker, told The Sun , "which means, she'll be helping others plumb the depths of their pasts to discover the secrets that are holding them back."

Bella Cruise was abruptly fired and struggled to forge a career

For all the perks and privileges it entails, it's not easy being the offspring of a Hollywood superstar. For many years, Bella Cruise's famous surname was a burden rather than a boon. Subsequently, she found herself meandering through life as she struggled to forge a career of her own. "Bella is lost," a source told the Daily Mail in 2015. "She's not pretty enough to be an actress and not smart enough to go to college and get a real job. It's the same with Connor, who travels the world partying and DJ-ing."

At one point, it did appear as though things were looking up for Cruise. Following her father's marriage to Katie Holmes, she was given a job with Holmes' clothing brand, Holmes and Yang. The two women reportedly got along, with Cruise referring to her dad's new partner as her "mom." However, in 2012, she was axed seemingly without warning. "She was fired out of the blue, and once Katie filed for divorce, it all made sense," an insider told The Hollywood Reporter . "This was a carefully planned ambush. Katie didn't want Bella working for her anymore because she was Tom's kid." Two years later, she reportedly began working as a hairdresser in London after undertaking a £15,000 (around $19,600) training course.

In 2015, Bella Cruise married her British partner, Max Parker, in London, a city that the Hollywood progeny now calls home. But her famous parents were nowhere in sight. Although Tom Cruise reportedly paid for his daughter's Scientology wedding, he made the difficult decision not to attend out of fears that doing so would result in a media frenzy.

Likewise, Nicole Kidman, despite being in London at the time, was also a no-show at her daughter's nuptials. Initially, there were claims that a rift between mother and daughter prevented Kidman from being there on Bella's special day. In fact, a source told Page Six that Kidman wasn't even aware that her daughter was getting married. "The wedding was a Scientology ceremony," the source claimed. "Nicole wasn't there — she didn't even know about it at all."

However, an insider told the Daily Mail that this was not the case. "Nicole was actually involved with the wedding preparations and she did have a private dinner with Bella and Max," they said. "But she didn't go to the ceremony. Also, the animosity between Tom and Nicole was probably a factor." In her own interview with the Daily Mail , Bella admitted that she found it difficult getting married without her father walking her down the aisle. She also denied claims of a feud with her mother, revealing that they chat regularly.

The Cruise kids were allegedly brainwashed against their mother

Nicole Kidman and her second husband, Keith Urban, have two daughters together, but one would be forgiven for forgetting that Kidman also has children with Tom Cruise. That's because Kidman was allegedly pushed out of Bella and Connor Cruise's lives. "She worries that they've drifted to a point where she'll be lucky if she'll ever get to see them," a source told Heat  in 2024. "It would help if Tom were to encourage it, but that's not likely." According to Scientology whistleblowers, this has all been orchestrated by Tom, who allegedly brainwashed his children against their mother.

In Scientology, there is nothing worse than being a so-called "suppressive person," i.e., someone who is deemed an enemy of the church. Towards the end of his marriage to Kidman, Tom allegedly branded Kidman an S.P. and turned his kids against her. "They rejected Nicole—they've been instructed," ex-Scientologist John Brousseau told Vanity Fair in 2012. "They took a course, P.T.S./S.P., Potential Trouble Source/Suppressive Person, for persons connected in their lives who are an S.P. They whispered to me, 'J.B., Nicole is an S.P.! Our mom's an S.P.—we hate going and seeing her.'"

Tommy Davis, head of the church's Celebrity Centre, allegedly made the children believe that Kidman was a sociopath. "After a while they believed him," ex-Scientologist Marty Rathbun told The Hollywood Reporter. "They had daily sessions with Tommy. I was there. I saw it." An attorney representing the church denied Davis' claims. 

Connor Cruise has allegedly been used as 'pawn'

Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman's only son, Connor Cruise, is all grown up now and free to follow his own destiny. Or is he? Having been raised by their father, Connor and Bella Cruise grew up following the doctrine of Scientology. According to Scientology dissenters, Connor is being groomed by the church in the hopes that he, much like his dad, will someday hold a senior position within the organization.

Speaking to Radar in 2018, ex-Scientologist Katrina Reyes claimed that the church became more heavily involved in Connor's life as punishment for his rebellious antics. Accordingly, he was apparently housed in Scientology hotel The Sandcastle where a watchful eye could be kept on him. "The only reason I've ever seen it happen before with someone like Connor is that he did something he wasn't supposed to do, like interacting with every day people, having ideas or regular thoughts of doing what he wants," Reyes said, adding that the church was using Connor as a "pawn."

Since then, Tom and his fellow Scientologists have allegedly exerted greater control over Connor's life. As with Bella's wedding, Kidman was a no-show when Connor got married in 2019. At one point in the evening, she allegedly saw the couple's 7-month-old baby left crying on a bathroom floor. "When I opened the door, I found three women, including Tom's sister and his assistant, standing over the baby, who was lying on the tile floor," she wrote. "Rather than talking to her in a soothing voice, they kept saying, 'Suri! Suri!' in a tone that sounded like they were telling an adult to get her s*** together." Distraught at what she witnessed, Remini yelled at the women to help Noelle, before heating up a bottle to feed the hungry infant.

But such alleged behavior would apparently be extreme even for adherents of the controversial religion. "They believe that children are spiritual beings and that they can handle a lot of responsibility," former Scientologist Lori Hodgson told Inside Edition . "But I've never heard of that at such a young age as an infant." The church denied Remini's claims, dismissing her as "a bitter ex-Scientologist."

Katie Holmes reportedly feared for her daughter's safety

Katie Holmes has always had a protective relationship over her daughter, Suri Noelle . This vigilance was presumably spurred by the ordeal she and Noelle endured after leaving Tom Cruise. In a move that apparently shocked Cruise, Holmes filed for divorce in 2012 and sought sole custody of their daughter. Cruise was allegedly manipulative and controlling during the couple's marriage, apparently resulting in Holmes losing all sense of identity.

Following the divorce, there were reports that Holmes and Noelle were unable to leave their home due to harassment by Scientologists. Cruise's rep denied that he hired the men to harass Holmes and Noelle.

It was a traumatic period for the mother and daughter duo. "That time was intense," Holmes told InStyle . Sources revealed to  Us Weekly that, amid their trauma, Holmes and Noelle had saved each other.

Suri Noelle reportedly went no contact with her siblings

From the outset of her relationship with Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes allegedly expressed concerns over Scientology's treatment of his children. According to sources who spoke to TMZ , Holmes had witnessed members of the church subjecting Bella and Connor Cruise to a form of interrogation known as "sec checking," and feared that Suri Noelle would also endure the ritual. Sec checks have been likened to psychological terrorism; the process entails an intrusive line of questioning apparently designed to extract dirt on the subject's parents. Given her siblings' loyalty to their dad and, by extension, Scientology, Noelle has nothing to do with Bella and Connor.

In 2024, the Daily Mail reported that Noelle had gone no contact with her siblings, who had apparently attempted to get in touch multiple times. There once was a time when Noelle was close with Connor in particular, but their relationship soon broke down. "They haven't had contact in a decade and there are several reasons why," an insider divulged. "First and foremost is the church of Scientology. Suri's father and brother do not associate with her because of their devotion to the church, so why would she have a relationship with her siblings?"

"What has been really important for me with my daughter, because she was so visible at a young age, is I really like to protect her," she said.

Suri Noelle's father plays no part in her life

Though Katie Holmes and Suri Noelle's ability to free themselves from Scientology was a rare exception, they are still viewed as enemies within the eyes of the church. "According to Scientology doctrine, Katie has denied Suri her spiritual eternity in the church," former Scientologist Samantha Domingo told Vanity Fair in 2012. "There's no chance for her now."

Accordingly, Noelle reportedly has no relationship with Tom Cruise, who has missed so many major milestones in his daughter's life . In fact, Cruise reportedly hasn't seen his daughter since 2012, with Holmes intent on safeguarding her daughter. "Suri will not have any contact with her father, despite being 18, and even if he called, she would not answer," a source told the  Daily Mail . "He does not exist to Katie or Suri, and his daughter does not want to rely on him for anything. She feels that she has one parent and that is her mother." In 2024, she changed her name from "Suri Cruise" to "Suri Noelle," with her new surname being a tribute to her mother (Holmes' middle name is Noelle).

Though Noelle has been away from Scientology for over a decade, Leah Remini has warned that Holmes must do everything in her power to continue to protect her daughter. "I'm sure [Cruise's] master plan is to wait until Suri gets older so he can lure her into Scientology and away from her mother," she told the Daily Mail in 2024.
