Honiton: A35 temporary traffic lights continue to cause delays and safety concerns.

Temporary traffic lights were erected on the A35 in October but the repair work hasn't started yet.
In October 2021 a landslide occurred on the A35 just outside Honiton, on the way to Axminster. Since then, there have been two-way traffic lights.
The lights are causing long delays in both directions and local motorists are becoming increasingly frustrated.
Many people are concerned about the safety aspect. As you approach Honiton from Axminister the lights and queues appear with little warning on a blind corner.
Yesterday Nub News witnessed a vehicle drive straight through a clear red light, only narrowly missing the cars which were moving off in the opposite direction.
According to National Highways, a lot of work has been taking place in the background and work on the ground will start on April 25. It is thought it will take two weeks to complete.
Part of this work will mean closing the relevant section of the A35 for a full day.
Stephen Potts, Service Manager for National Highways, told Nub News: "Our teams have been working hard to resolve the landslip issue on the A35 at Devil's Elbow near Honiton, and remediation works are planned to start on 25 April.
"Traffic signals have been in place for safety reasons while extensive ground investigation and geotechnical surveys have been carried out.
"Due to the nature of the landslip, temporary traffic signals have remained in place and during the two-week programme of work, overnight and daytime closures of the A35 will be required.
"The complex works will comprise sheet piling, verge and bank reinstatement and resurfacing of the carriageway, and all traffic management arrangements and diversion routes will be announced in due course."
People are advised to plan extra time for their journey.
