Great place if nothing goes wrong...”

Sadly, I can only give one star due to an unecceptable experience I had during my stay. It's particularly disappointing since the guesthouse has a lot to offer: The location is great. Friendly and helpful stuff. Good value for money. During the night you feel like sleeping in a pond of frogs - nature galore, yet just a 15min moto drive to the city. The rooms are spacious - they are also reasonably clean (trending towards not very clean). The guest house also offers an OK- floating market tour which is above average in terms of value for money & engagement. Some of the staff speak good English. Trouble is: The hostel decided to put everyone into house arrest/ lockdown after a guest misplaced his credit card. To enforce the lock down the staff 'borrowed' everyone's passport without being prepared to actually give it back when one wanted to depart/check out. I had to physically reclaim my passport to leave on time so that I did not overstay my visa. There is no legal or contractual basis for locking guests onto a site and depriving them of their passports. It's an unacceptable overreaction framing every guest as a potential criminal until proven innocent. After a number of verbal and written interactions, the management still refused to apologize indicating that they would react like this again if any guest lost any items while staying on site. Frankly, I am gobshmashed. In four weeks of travelling around Vietnam and staying in very local places I have only met rational & accommodating people who are certainly not stubborn (otherwise there would be thousands of traffic accidents, daily) - this place here appears to be the exception. If you do not want to be locked down for a non-specified time period defined by the whims of the tweenty-something management, you may want to stay somewhere else. If you have ample spare time for such antics, it a great place to linger around. The frogs are, indeed, rather pleasant - and there is sufficient beer in the fridge.

Superb hospitality ”

I was deeply touched by the hospitality and generosity of the stuff - so willing to anticipate and accommodate all of my needs. I highly recommend staying here to go to the Mekong delta sunset tour and Cai Rang floating market because they have their own boat and all you need to do is wake up and get out of your bungalow, step into the boat by your door and get on with your journey. It’s a 30 min boat ride to the floating market so you get to sleep in compared to your taking the journey from elsewhere. Both the boat captain and their guide Phuong were fantastic. Phuong even took me around Can Tho city in the evening(10 min bike ride) as her own initiative and helped me try the best night market foods. Guys at the reception spoke very good English and were very accommodating too. I feel very grateful and very glad I came to visit.

A great homestay to explore Can Tho and the Mekong Delta”

I've been here once before in 2019 and had to come back as I remember my stay here made my experience in Can Tho. The rooms itself is a true local experience, equipped with mosquito nets for the night and two fans! Having two days here I highly recommend renting a motorbike from the homestay to explore the city and city center! You can book a tour with the homestay to explore the Mekong Delta in the morn, what's great is they use their river nearby to get into the local floating market, around 5 AM is a wake-up call. However, if you have time you can also go into the city near the docks and book a tour there, it will be a cheaper price. The homestay has bikes for you to use free of use, we went down the street to grab dinner from the locals but usually places close by 8 PM. The staff was very kind and chatted with us every time we came back to the homestay. We were treated with jackfruit grown at the property along with them being kind enough for us to use their own motorbike since none was available. Lastly, this spot is popular with foreign tourists, and so if you would like to meet new travellers this place is great.

Stay there, you will not regret it ”

I loved my one night stay in the dorm there. The location is not fancy but very adequate for the region, and still has all you need. I stayed at a dorm for 4 but was the only one there. You have to live with the fact that you are in nature and there are all sorts of animals. The bed had a mosquito net. I also did the half day tour to the floating market, rice factory and fruit garden which was the highlight for sure and is a must do. The Mekong is very dirty at time with a lot of plastic u unfortunately. Still worth exploring.

Great hosts”

The hosts at this homestay is so good. They helped with so many things for our travels, booked us on a tour which was very interesting and their English is really good. The room was nice and big for 4 of us with 3 beds. Overall it is a good stay for a night or two. Bring bug spray! A bit far out if town and not a lot of taxis in Can Tho. We enjoyed our stay.
