Polar Express holiday experience returns to Arizona in 2024. How to get discount tickets

With a little holiday magic, the train tracks leading to the Grand Canyon will instead lead to the North Pole for a few nights in November and December when the Grand Canyon Railway will transform into The Polar Express on select nights, offering 90-minute rides that take passengers to see Santa Claus.

Based on the children's book "The Polar Express" by Chris Van Allsburg and its 2004 film adaptation, the Polar Express train rides will feature readings of the story while passengers are served hot chocolate and chocolate chip cookies, with a stop at the North Pole where Santa Claus and his reindeer await.

Tickets are now on sale, including value rates on select dates. Several dates are already selling out; Saturdays leading up to the holiday are showing the highest demand.

How long is the Grand Canyon Polar Express?

The Polar Express rides will take place at 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on select dates from Nov. 8 to Dec. 30. There are no Polar Express rides on Nov. 11, 12, 19, 26 and 28, and Dec. 3, 10 and 25.

Rides are about 90 minutes roundtrip.

How much does the Polar Express cost in Arizona?

Tickets for the Polar Express rides are $71 for adults and $57 for children 15 and younger, before tax.

Grand Canyon Railway offers a discounted value rate on some days: Nov. 10, 13-14, 17-18 and 20-21, and Dec. 2, 4-5, 9 and 11. The reduced rate is $60 for adults and $44 for children.

At the time of writing, the Grand Canyon Railway's website showed available tickets for all discounted dates.

What can I do if I forgot to apply for NZeTA?

Some travellers do not check requirements in advance and do not realise that NZeTA is a necessity for visitors from visa-exempt countries . Others simply forget to submit an application in advance.

Nationals of 60 different countries and territories must obtain an NZeTA to visit New Zealand for stays of up to 90 days for the purposes of tourism or business.

Those who are unaware of this usually find out at the airport. Airlines may not let passengers board a flight to New Zealand if they do not have an approved NZeTA.

However, if you realise you do need an NZeTA just a few hours before your flight, there is still time to submit a Fast Track NZeTA application .

How long does the NZeTA Fast Track option take ?

The option to get the Express NZeTA in an hour was introduced to ensure that travellers who are already on their way to New Zealand can get permission to enter the country.

Normally, the majority of applicants receive their NZeTAs within 24 hours of applying. Almost all cases are resolved within 3 days.

However, in last-minute situations, the Fast Track option to receive the document within an hour could save the day. This service ensures that you can board the aircraft in time and enter New Zealand when you arrive.

When should I apply for the Express NZeTA?

The Fast Track NZeTA option can come in handy in situations where you:

• Need to take an emergency trip to New Zealand
• Have forgotten to submit a NZeTa application until the last minute
• Have had to replace their passport since they obtained the NZeTA

The Travel Authority is digitally linked to the passport registered in the online application. If a passport is lost, stolen, damaged, or expired, the NZeTA becomes invalid. In such a case, you must reapply using the new passport .

If a traveller is unaware of this until they are on their way to New Zealand, they will need to use the express option to have their new NZeTA processed in 1 hour.

How to Apply for the Express NZeTA in One Hour

The Express NZeTA can be obtained completely online. A New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority application form only takes a few minutes to complete .

The most common reason for a delay in the processing of the NZeTA is small errors on the application form . Applicants should be very careful when completing the form and double-check for typographical errors (typos).

It is easy to make minor mistakes in details such as the passport number and email address . For this reason, it is important to check and make sure that this information is correctly written to ensure the NZeTA is received in one hour.

How do I receive the Fast Track NZeTA?

Once approved, the Fast Track NZeTA is electronically linked to your passport within an hour.

The holder of an approved Express NZeTA can then use the same passport to board a flight and travel to New Zealand.

A copy of the Express NZ travel authority is also sent to your email address . However, it is normally enough to present the electronically linked passport to airport/airline staff.

Witnesses report that he fell from his family's cabin on Deck 14 into the ship's internal Central Park area, which houses a variety of bars, restaurants, and pubs, on Deck 8.

Crew members attempted to revive the young boy, but he sadly died before the ship reached its docking point at Galveston, Texas on Sunday. It is believed he was on the cruise with his family to celebrate a birthday.

Passengers waiting to embark on the ship for its next journey from Galveston were informed of a delay due to an ongoing investigation.

Royal Caribbean confirmed the death of a passenger but has not released any further details about the incident or the family involved.

Is the Trans-Siberian Railway expensive?

Before starting on your Trans-Siberian Railway adventure you naturally want to know what the entire trip will cost. Although this sounds like a simple question, it is pretty difficult to answer. The Trans-Siberian Railway price of travel depends on the following factors:

• Which travel class do I want to use? The price for a first class ticket is about three times the price of a 3rd class ticket
• Am I willing to buy the tickets myself and assume responsibility for the organisation of the trip?
• How many stopovers do I want to make? The more breaks, the higher the total price.
• What sort of accommodation do I want? Will it be a luxury hotel or will a hostel dormitory be sufficient?
• What tours and excursions would I like to go on?
• What is the current exchange rate for rubles?

Basically, everything from a luxury to a budget holiday is available. If you buy yourself a 3rd Class nonstop ticket at the counter, a few hundred Euros will cover the price. All you will experience is a week on the Trans-Siberian train and will see nothing of the cities on the way. There is, however, any amount of room for upward expansion. Everyone makes different choices about which aspects they are willing to spend money on. I personally prefer to save money on accommodation and railcar class, visit as many cities and do as many trips as possible. To enable better classification of your travel expenses I have contrasted two typical traveler types. In the third column you can calculate the total cost of your own journey on the Trans-Siberian Railway. Please keep in mind that these are only rough estimations and not exact prices.

The all-in costs seem fairly high at first. However, they cover everything and it is quite a long journey taking four weeks. Many people forget to consider that when looking at the list. We should also deduct the running costs for food and leisure at home. I think most visitors to this page will classify themselves somewhere between the two categories, that is around the € 2,000 – € 2,500 range. When comparing these prices with other travel packages, you get the impression that it is hardly worthwhile travelling individually on the Trans-Siberian Railway. Please keep in mind that most packages last no more than 14 days and you are herded like cattle through the most beautiful locations.

If you spend less time on the Trans-Siberian Railway you will, of course, pay less. I chose this particular travel length because I prefer not to do things by halves. If you fulfill your dream of travelling on the Trans-Siberian Railway, enjoy it and don’t rush things. But it’s up to you, of course. Try playing around with the form a bit to find the appropriate price for your trip.

• The background should be light and plain, but not white with no other objects;

Do I need an NZeTA if I have a New Zealand visa?

No. As we have explained, the NZeTA is only issued to those who qualify for a visa waiver. In addition, the visa already functions as a travel authorization, so electronic travel authorization is not required.

Do I need to print the NZeTA?

Yes, you must print your NZeTA and present it with your passport upon entry.

Let's start with the basics: transiting through New Zealand requires a travel permit to enter the country. This can be in the form of a transit visa or an NZeTA. If you are transiting from a country listed on the transit visa exemption list (as noted above), you must apply for the NZeTA but not the visa.

How to get application confirmation?

Once you complete your payment, you can download your receipt immediately. After the application is processed, you can download the complete invoice.

What happens if my application is rejected?

In most cases, the NZeTA application will be approved within a few days. It is very rare for an NZeTA application to be refused and it is difficult to determine the reason for the rejection as Immigration New Zealand never states why the application was rejected.

Your NZeTA application was rejected but you still want to travel to New Zealand?

Do I get a refund in the event of a cancellation?

In the very rare event that your NZeTA application is rejected, you will receive a full refund of the visa purchase fee. This does not apply to travellers whose NZeTA applications were previously rejected.

When is the best time to travel to New Zealand?

Does eTA or VISA guarantee entry into New Zealand?

An approved New Zealand eTA or valid visa does not guarantee entry to New Zealand. The eTA confirmation entitles the recipient to travel to New Zealand on an approved transport company. Similarly, travellers can travel to New Zealand on a non-immigrant visa for the purposes for which it was issued.

What happens if I spend my eTA in New Zealand?

If foreign nationals have an overstaying New Zealand eTA, they are legally required to leave the country immediately. Travelers staying illegally in New Zealand may be subject to a New Zealand visa overstay penalty.

What are the correct conditions for using eTA?

The terms of the eTA are:

• It is your responsibility to find out what you are allowed to do in New Zealand;
• Once your eTA has been approved, you can travel in and out of New Zealand as often as you like for a period of 2 years from the date your eTA was issued or until your passport expires, whichever comes first.
• Stay in New Zealand for a maximum of 90 days (6 months for UK citizens) on each visit;
• study duration of up to 90 days (6 months for UK citizens);
• not suffering from tuberculosis;
• no criminal conviction where you have been sentenced to a minimum of 12 months, regardless of whether or not you have served one or more sentences;
• Do not work with eTA. They can only perform activities for small business visitors, e.g. For example, attending conferences, asking business questions and negotiating contracts.
