A memory to last my lifetime.
I brought my partner here as a surprise gift and to celebrate our 4th anniversary together. He loves animals so I knew that he would love this place. I was right! He was over the moon with all the animals that sniffed him, head-butted him and clamoured for his attention. He said that this was hands down one of the best experiences in his life. A place like this is not just for kids... Adults like us can have a blast too! If you have an open heart, and especially if you don't, this farm is a treat and healing for the soul. The animals are treated well and with complete and utter love and devotion... Don't miss this place if you're in the area. I promise you won't regret it. I know I don't. I never will, because this is the last trip my partner and I took together. Exactly a a month after our visit, my partner, my love, passed away in our home. I will be eternally grateful for the wonderful memories you have gifted me. I will remember his happiness here for the rest of my life...so again - thank you from the aching cavern of my heart.
An amazing family trip!
I took my nieces (4 and 2) to farm ventures and I have honestly n ever seen them so happy as they where meeting all the animals. Both of them thoroughly enjoyed meeting all of them especially the bun nies and a beautiful black pony who I believe the girl said was called twilight such a good name for her.
Farm ventures run an amazing establishment all the animals are so well trained and well cared for my 4 year old niece said she wants a place just like farm ventures when she grows up. She is also now begging her parents for riding lessons after her go on twilight.
Thank you to the amazingly helpful and knowledgable staff for an informative tour and a great day out for all the family I enjoyed it as much as the girls did we will definitely be back. I would honestly recommend this to anyone wanting something to do for all the family if you are animal lovers.
Magical Family Memories!
We loved it so much we went 3 days in a row on our family vacation!
Bette-l ynn our delightful and welcoming host taught us so many interesting facts about each of the animals, and watching her engage with each of them is a thing of beauty.
The trail rides were so much fun, singing and chatting and enjoying the gorgeous scenery. We felt safe and confident being first time riders.
Thank you for the memories we will cherish for a lifetime! xo

TreeTop Challenge
The exciting next chapter of our renewal is the opening of a new treetop challenge high ropes and zipline course at the big pineapple. .
TreeTop Challenge is one of Queensland’s premier ecotourism operators, as recognised through a gold Queensland tourism award. The Big Pineapple course is set to become their highest and most exciting course, adding to other successful high ropes and zipline courses in the Gold Coast and Scenic Rim.
The new course is being constructed across eight acres, within the mature trees that backdrop the Big Pineapple structure and original buildings. There will be about 120 activities across the two kilometre course, with a variety of challenges including a 120m zipline. The course will take around half a day to complete.

COMING SOON
The Big Pineapple is an iconic food-tourism destination, with a history of showcasing and celebrating Queensland’s world-class produce. In the Big Pineapple’s heyday, it was the nation’s most popular tourism attraction, and is now making a come-back, with food again at the heart of our tourism offer.
A feature of our master plan is to facilitate more on-site food and beverage production, with wholesale and retail food and beverage distribution, along with on-site food production demonstration and tasting.
In the future we plan to diversify our offer, with demonstration farms, micro-breweries, distilleries, restaurants and a convention centre.
COYO has joined the Big Pineapple team
COYO, an award winning leader in dairy free products, joined us in 2019. COYO produce many coconut yoghurt and ice cream products which are distributed across Australia, along with export distribution and international licensing.
The Big Pineapple will become COYO’s national headquarters based at the former Macadamia Nut factory, when refurbished. With an expanded production base at the Big Pineapple COYO will be able to further advance their market reach.
COYO founders, Henry and Sandra Gosling are true food pioneers, as they were the first to invent coconut-based yoghurt. It is a highly sought after vegan product for consumers who are seeking an organic, diary-free yoghurt. It is this type of innovation and drive that we will seek to foster at the Big Pineapple, as we become a hub of food R&D and production.
The expansion of COYO’s production at the Big Pineapple is another exciting chapter in the food-based renewal of the Sunshine Coast’s most famous icon.
Diablo Ginger Beer
We are excited to welcome Diablo Ginger Beer to the Big Pineapple.
A revved up re-invention of ginger beer, Diablo is a crafty blend of 13 balanced ingredients including herbs, spices and other natural ingredients.
The mix gives Diablo Alcoholic Ginger Beer its distinctive taste, delivering unrivalled refreshment and flavour.
The robust flavours and aromas are achieved through an exact process of ageing and maceration of its natural ingredients. All made in the heart of the Sunshine Coast, Queensland.
Crisp ginger, fresh lime and the subtle balance of chilli makes Diablo Alcoholic Ginger Beer 'Devilishly Refreshing' and easy drinking.
Drop in and see them at their POP-UP BAR, every Saturday including Growler sales (including exchange of empties) and Liqueur & Vodka Bottles sales. Why not come along and try a cocktail or two!
REDEVELOPMENT MASTER PLAN

We also hosted a sold-out Midnight Oil concert in October 2017, further demonstrating our ability to successfully host world-class music events.
On-site camping: We offer the convenient option to camp at the Big Pineapple for our evening music events, adding to the relaxed, festival feel.

The return of the icon
The Big Pineapple is a national tourism and food icon based on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. Featuring a 16m fibreglass pineapple structure, historically the Big Pineapple drew over a million visits a year, being the most popular tourism attraction in Australia.
The Big Pineapple site is currently undergoing renewal and transformation, guided by a whole of site master plan across the 170ha landholding. The large scale of the property provides great potential to host new attractions and again become a highly popular destination.
In addition to the iconic Big Pineapple structure, visitor centre and train, today the site is home to a popular zoo, the TreeTop Challenge high ropes and zipline course, in addition to our sell-out events program.
With an expanding array of animals at Wildlife HQ and events such as our craft beer and cider expo, there are many reasons to re-discover the new Big Pineapple experience.
A whole of site master plan to guide a successful, sustainable future
Following three years of intensive planning, research and consultation, a whole of site master plan is now guiding a successful, sustainable future for the Big Pineapple.
Planned uses at the Big Pineapple include:
Food and tourism hub to showcase the region’s produce (the Big Pineapple experience) including craft brewery and fresh food produce outlet & F&B outlets
Tourism attractions, including a water park
Adventure and recreation, including TreeTop Challenge adventure course
Events space, supporting our highly successful music program, including the Big Pineapple Music Festival.
Accommodation including an RV park, glamping, eco-villas and hotel
Food production, R&D and distribution (which is commencing with COYO, an organic coconut yoghurt producer)
Travel centre including a service station

Strawberry Fields is one of the most unique and exciting experiences on the Sunshine Coast .
This incredible strawberry farm in Palmview is a family-owned enterprise that invites visitors to see what it’s like in a working strawberry farm, pick their own, and shop for handmade goods.
Strawberry Fields, Picking Season, Cafe, Shop, Farm, Tours, Palmview Qld
Strawberry Fields features a tractor playground where the kids can spend hours playing while you can unwind at the picnic tables and take in the scenic views. Race 8 – 2,4
Race 9 – 2,4,6
$72 = 100 per cent of the dividend
Race 1 – 3YO Handicap (1400m)
Selections: 2, 3, 7, 4.
Saturday form is with TESSATORI (2) which hasn’t run a bad race in six outings and scored a narrow but tenacious win at Doomben last start. The handicapper hasn’t missed her but Melea Castle’s 2kg claim helps, she won’t be far away in running and the hat-trick looms.
There was support for WITHOUT DELAY (3) on debut at Ipswich and he duly delivered, albeit narrowly. This extra distance on a bigger track suits, winkers go on and with Jag Guthmann-Chester he can overcome the 4kg weight rise.
DREAM SMART (7) got the job done in good style at Scone last start. This is harder but she drops 1.5kg and from gate one with Nikita Beriman gets all the favours.
POPE CODY (4) will appreciate this bigger track, improves second up and if Jim Orman can get him to begin better will be in the finish.
Verdict – TESSATORI (2) to go on with it.
Race 2 – F&M No Metro Win Handicap (1400m)
Selections: 2, 3, 1, 11.
A 3kg claim for Emily Lang helps MY PINS (2) which was far too good for them at the Sunshine Coast last start over this trip. A lightly-raced mare due to two long injury breaks she has built a good record of five wins from 17 starts and has come back in good order. This is harder but she drops 4kg, makes her own luck and is a mare in form.
DIVINE PURPOSE (3) has had a change of stables and can be her own worst enemy at the start. This big track suits, she is well treated with 56.5kg and with Justin Stanley will be rounding them up late.
Wins don’t come often for CRAZY TRAIN (1) but she wasn’t beaten far in the Murwillumbah Cup and just missed the placings in Saturday grade at Rosehill two starts back. She has 60kg but has earnt it in better company than this and will hit the line for Andrew Mallyon.
DREAM LANTERN (11) is a promising mare that was dominant at Ipswich last start. She takes on some seasoned performers but drops 4.5kg and may have more upside than the rest.
Verdict – Many chances but MY PINS (2) will give a sight.
Race 3 – Benchmark 70 Handicap (1200m)
Selections: 3, 19, 2, 4.
The enigmatic JOHN RAMBO (3) gets to his right track and distance following a sound first-up effort at Doomben. A winner at both outings here over the trip, the inside draw helps and with Jag Guthmann-Chester he can lob along with cover and pick them off in the run home.
The old firm of David Vandyke and Ryan Maloney combine on the promising LOST HIS BEANS (19) which has had his issues but has won two of three and was too good when resuming in a moderate field at the Sunshine Coast. This is harder but he drops 3kg and will get all the favours from an inside draw.
Since a change of stables I AM ARTIE (2) is unbeaten in three outings this preparation all in dominant fashion at the Sunshine Coast. A wide gate and 61kg test but Jim Orman stays on and will know what to do.
Blinkers go back on SPIRIT QUEEN (4) which has been finding it hard but drops in class and will benefit from a positive ride.
Verdict – JOHN RAMBO (3) too strong.
Race 4 – Class 3 Plate (1800m)
Selections: 7, 13, 3, 5.
Winning hasn’t been easy for HILLCREST AVENUE (7) but he hasn’t been far away at both outings since resuming from a long break. This trip suits, he makes his own luck and with Bailey Wheeler gets his chance for a breakthrough.
JENNI MOREESE (13) has only won one race but has more upside than many of these and only just missed at the Sunshine Coast last start. Karl Zechner stays on and from the good gate will be well-placed throughout.
KOKONOTSU (3) disappointed in this class at Doomben last outing but returned with heat stress and has a much better record at this track. Now third-up, he gets to the right trip and with Emily Lang’s 3kg claim can improve.
BIG TICKET BOY (5) is fitter for three outings and wasn’t far away over this trip at the Sunshine Coast. The gate tests but a positive ride from Jake Bayliss can make a difference.
Verdict – Not a race to excite but HILCREST AVENUE (7) is due.
Race 5 – Benchmark 78 Handicap (1000m)
Selections: 1, 5, 7, 8.
Hard to pass a mare in form and LIQUOR (1) has been freshened by a recent trial. The handicapper hasn’t forgotten her but Emily Lang’s 3kg claim helps and with a great record at this trip won’t be far away in running.
Barry Lockwood has BATTLEFIELD (5) resuming after a freshen-up and showed he was ready to go with a recent trial win. In dynamic form since joining the stable winning his past three convincingly he will give them a start but be strongest late.
GODFATHER (7) showed gelding and a change of environment might be the making of him when getting the job done at Ipswich in a Class 5. He takes on sharper ones here but Andrew Mallyon stays on and can show us what he’s got.
MR GALAZI (8) has been doing everything but winning and a stronger rider in Samantha Collett will help.
Verdict – LIQUOR (1) to get it done again.
Race 6 – Class 6 Plate (1200m)
Selection: 2, 8, 1, 3.
Sydney Saturday form is with CLOUDLAND (2) which beat all but the winner when resuming at Randwick in a Benchmark 78. He drops 1kg here and with Andrew Mallyon has the gate speed to overcome the awkward draw.
TRIBECA STAR (8) has always looked a likely type and returned in good order with a convincing win in a strong Sunday Class 3 at the Sunshine Coast. This is harder but he drops 3kg and will get every chance with Jim Orman.
MANHOOD (1) has been unable to get the breakthrough but hasn’t missed a place in three outings this preparation. It is now 71 weeks between drinks but Jag Guthmann-Chester stays on and will give him every chance again.
EVOCATOR (3) gets a long way back but has an excellent first-up record and no one prepares them better first-up than Barry Lockwood. He gives a start but watch out late.
Verdict- Going with the Sydney form of CLOUDLAND (2).
Race 7 – Quality Handicap (1600m)
Selections: 1, 8, 7, 3.
The five-year-old entire VIMINELE (1) got the job done when well supported at Doomben and while up 2.5kg meets a field of similar quality and might not be done with yet.
MENAZZI (8) hit the front but couldn’t hold off Viminele at Doomben. He meets his conqueror on similar terms with Robbie Dolan replacing the apprentice Cody Collis. Wins have been hard to come by but he rarely races poorly and will give a sight again.
Ciaron Maher has brought AWASH (7) North after a solid but unspectacular effort in Sydney Saturday grade last start. He drops 2.5kg with Ryan Maloney taking the mount and while poorly drawn will be given every chance.
A tongue-tie goes back on MISSISSIPPI PRINCE (3) which is on the seven-day back-up and while bandages are some concern a positive ride by Samantha Collett helped last time when placing over this trip three outings back. From the ace draw a similar effort can see him bother these.
Verdict – Not a race I like but staying with VIMINELE (1).
Race 8 – Quality Handicap (1000m)
Selections: 4, 2, 1, 3.
Six wins from twelve starts is a very good record and HIDDEN WEALTH (4) showed he was ready to go with a dominant trial win. He loves this track, the trip suits first-up and from the ace draw with only 53.5kg he will be hard to run down.
The other Gollan runner KING KAPA (2) has been freshened after taking on some stronger company during the Winter. His recent trial was sound, he has won three times here and won’t be far away in running.
FAR TOO EASY (1) is resuming with the Kosciuszko on his agenda. His trials have been strong, the big track suits and while longer is better he has won at 900m and will be swallowing them up late.
RUBIQUITOUS (3) hasn’t won for over a year but this is his track and distance. When last here he led them up in the Listed Lightning Stakes and hung on to place. A repeat has him in the finish.
Verdict – HIDDEN WEALTH (4) weighted to win.
Race 9 – C,G&E No Metro Win Handicap (1400m)
Selection: 2, 4, 6, 7.
Tony Gollan can cap off a big day with WARBY (2) which has done everything but win this preparation and was beaten by the barest margin in this class last outing at Doomben. He will get back but the bigger track, 1400m, 0.5kg less and Ryan Maloney staying on tip the scales his way.
BULLION BOY (4) split a handy pair in Compelling Truth and John Rambo when resuming in this grade at Doomben. He improves second-up, this bigger track suits and Jim Orman can make his own luck.
KADALL (6) is another knocking on the door and was well-supported last start at Doomben when having his first outing for the Annabel Neasham and Rob Archibald stable. With Jag Guthmann-Chester he will be well-placed throughout.
STARZAM (7) isn’t one to win out of turn but this class suits and he showed a change of stables has benefited him when beating all but the winner on resuming at Murwillumbah. From a good gate with Angela Jones he can make his presence felt.
Verdict – WARBY (2) to get the result.

I live in Cornwall – these are my favourite crowd-free places to visit
After summer, tourist numbers fall – and the county is just as glorious.
If a place can be too pretty, Cornwall might just be it. With its gorse-tangled cliffs, white sand beaches, higgledy-piggledy fishing villages and harbour towns, it’s ever popular for a UK escape.
Indeed, the South West was the most in-demand place for UK getaways this summer, according to VisitBritain ’s latest Domestic Sentiment Tracker .
Although, as residents will tell you, July and August rarely offer the best weather in Cornwall, and they are often disappointingly mizzly. In the peak months, the county is crammed to capacity, and most sensible Cornish folk stay home, avoiding the traffic-choked roads and leaving the overcrowded beaches to the tourists .
The sudden drop-off in autumn, once the school term starts, was always keenly anticipated when I was a kid: the beaches would go from packed to deserted in a matter of days. These days, the sands definitely stay busier for longer, but they’re still noticeably quieter come September.
Here are five of my favourite places for a crowd-free visit to Cornwall. With luck, you might be treated to some autumnal sunshine, too.
Bodmin Moor
Many people entirely overlook Cornwall’s wild rooftop. Spanning a swathe of the country’s centre, it’s a pocket of stark solitude sandwiched between two overcrowded coasts. It’s home to the county’s twin highest hills – Brown Willy ( Bronn Wennili in Cornish, meaning “hill of swallows”) and neighbouring Rough Tor (pronounced like bough, not tough).
On a clear day, you’ll get epic views over the moor and both the north and south coasts. There is much prehistory to discover, including ancient stone circles and stone age settlements. In late autumn, the moor has an added spectacle: starling murmurations. Golitha Falls makes a fine spot for a picnic and a paddle.
Where to stay
The cosy St Tudy Inn offers a refuge in the middle of the moor, and it’s now owned by Harbour Brewing, so the beer and ale choice is great. B&B doubles from £99.
Where to eat
Coombeshead Farm is set on a working 66-acre estate that raises its own pigs and grows its own produce. Chef Oscar Holgado is a slow food champion, and there’s an onsite bakery.
How to get there
The county’s main A30 road cuts right through the moor’s middle, but there’s precious little public transport, so you’ll need your own car.
Rame Peninsula
This finger of land is in the county’s far southeast, on the banks of the River Tamar. In the days of sail, this was an important strategic point, and there are several aristocratic estates located here – including Port Eliot , Mount Edgcumbe and Antony (famous for its topiary garden, as seen in Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland ). The hike to Rame Head is a beauty, too, and there are some fine beaches – not least Whitsand Bay.
Westcroft Guesthouse is a stylish, welcoming B&B in the seaside village of Kingsand. B&B doubles from £90.
It’s a trek north, but Crocadon Farm is Cornwall’s most prestigious farm-to-plate restaurant – and is Michelin starred.
There’s precious little public transport on the Rame Peninsula, so again, a car (or bikes) will come in handy. A fun way to arrive is from Plymouth via the Torpoint Ferry .
Cape Cornwall
This National Trust-owned promontory offers a wonderful viewpoint, topped by an old mining monument. It also has the distinction of being one of only two capes in Britain, where two bodies of water meet (the other is Cape Wrath in Scotland). Nearby, you can see the cliffside mines at Botallack, and take an underground tour inside Geevor to learn about the tough lives of Cornwall’s miners. For sandy strolls, Gwynver Beach stays quieter than Sennen.
Where to stay and eat
The Gurnard’s Head near Zennor offers simple, unfussy rooms with cracking coastal views. The pub is also well-known for its food. Doubles with dinner and B&B from £255.
The glorious B3306 coast road runs from St Ives to Land’s End; the turn-off to Cape Cornwall is just after Botallack. In September, the open-top Land’s End Coaster bus should still be running. If not, the regular 16/17 travels inland via Penzance.
Hartland Coast
I live in Wales – here are six scenic hikes without tourist crowds
Hordes of summertime visitors make a beeline for Bude’s beaches – especially Summerleaze and its sea pool – but if you don’t mind hiking, there’s a wonderfully wild (and underexplored) stretch of coast which runs all the way to Hartland Point across the Devon border. Along the way, you’ll find many small coves, and the picturesque Hawker’s Hut , a ramshackle refuge built by Rev Rober Hawkers as a writer’s retreat.
Bude makes the obvious base, and The Beach at Bude is the town’s top place to stay, with boutiquey rooms and a good restaurant. B&B doubles from £180.
Sophisticated Cornish meets Asian fusion at Temple , an upscale bistro in the middle of town.
The grandly named Atlantic Highway (aka the A39) runs along the coast to Bude from Padstow and Wadebridge. There are buses, but none direct.
Prussia Cove
Notorious as a smuggler’s haunt, this rocky cove was named after the legendary “free trader” John Carter, nicknamed the King of Prussia for his apparent resemblance to the monarch. It’s an atmospheric place, pocked by sea caves and tramelled by steep granite cliffs plunging into the churning surf – best seen in stormy weather. There are beaches nearby – among them Rinsey – but you’ll need a map or local knowledge to find the more secret coves. St Michael’s Mount isn’t far, either, and autumn makes a great time to visit without crowds.
For views of the Mount, stay at The Godolphin Arms , a renovated hotel in the pretty town of Marazion. B&B doubles from £145.
Along the coast in Perranuthnoe, the Victoria Inn is one of west Cornwall’s top gastropubs.
Take the A394 between Helston and Penzance, and turn off at the Packet Inn in Rosudgeon.
