Our Boats and Guides
Our exclusive New Quay boat trips are guided by qualified marine biologist and enthusiastic skippers and crew.
The 1 hour trips are on our large white catamaran. It has cover from the sun and rain, but also has an open area at the front that has an unrivalled view of the dolphins . Being a twin hulled catamaran it is very stable with fantastic seakeeping properties, it also extremely safe for children. We have a full sized toilet on board (but please try to use the nearby loos before you get on board if possible).
The 1.5 hour trip and ½ day charters for groups of 12 and under are on our 29 foot Aluminium, purpose built wildlife watching vessel. Built in 2019, this boat is ideal for feeling at one with the sea. Virtually silent with our small, petrol outboards and with the wheelhouse at the back, nothing gets in the way when we encounter any of the amazing animals of Cardigan Bay . Our guides will be sat out with you while giving their commentary, allowing you or your children to ask as many questions as you like. You’ve paid for the trip, so make the most of it by learning as much as you can.
Both our vessels have side doors which makes stepping on board very easy. Please get in touch before booking as some of our trips leave from departure points that make wheelchair access impossible. Please view this YouTube video to get an idea of how to get to our departure point and what is involved if you have limited mobility. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oynZHKtvy3E

What’s in Our Pots?
We may also lift a couple of strategically placed lobster pots on our 1.5hr tours, depending on the conditions.
We have a few strategically placed lobster pots along the trips. The seabed is different at each of these locations which means that we are more likely to catch different creatures at each point.
Lobsters, crabs, prawns, and even small sharks can be handed or touched before being released and we continue on our journey.

Some of the fantastic wildlife you can see off the North Coast of Cornwall .
With its beautiful coastline and diverse range of habitats, the variety of sea life here makes it one of the best places in the British Isles to see marine animals of all kinds.
In Cornwall, the most beloved of sights is the grey seal. A vibrant community, these playful guys engage in games and hunts on the sea, and rest on remote beaches, offshore rocks and sea caves during low tide to digest their food. Visiting Cornwall? Grey seals are one of the most beloved sights of this area.
There are many different kinds of dolphins living in the waters surrounding Cornwall. Among them are the bottlenose and common varieties, which both inhabit the waters here in large groups, known as pods. The dolphins in Cornwall are well-liked by tourists for being both curious about boats and always leaping out of the water. Bottlenose dolphins are one of the most recurring visitors to the waters around Cornwall. They love to approach boats and are very playful.
Basking Shark
This massive shark might look scary, but this gentle giant has a soft heart and will gently swim away if he sees anyone approaching. This massive creature is one of only three plankton-eating sharks in the world. It has a small throat, so it cannot swallow humans. There is nothing to fear from this graceful, misunderstood monster.

TESTIMONIALS
Cornwall Waverunner Safaris has fantastic Tripadvisor ratings as Jet Ski, Boat Trip & Surf School adventure providers in Newquay and St Austell
Rib ride fun! – Excellent fun, well organised and run by very friendly guys. Fantastic experience for us all. Remember a waterproof jacket. Real adrenaline ride.
Great power boat ride bit not great value for money….. – Booked the RIB powerbiat ride and paid £20 for a 30 minute experience. The ride was great fun with lots of laughs and adrenaline but the time was a lot shorter.than advertised……17 minutes! Felt a bit short changed so probably wouldn’t recommend
A choppy but fun experience in a powered rib – Due to the weather, our 90 minute ride in a powered rib was shortened to 30 minutes and I am glad. I would not shave coped with 90 minutes as the waves were choppy. The rib was bouncing and surfing the waves. We were screaming and got very wet. It was fabulous and thoroughly enjoyed it because it was only 30 minutes! Any longer, I would have hated it. Waverunners are brilliant, friendly and engaging so if we are in Newquay again, we will definitely ride with them again.
Thrilling rib ride! – What great fun this was. We did the rib ride for half an hour. Very thrilling and definitely recommend it. Caused a lot of screaming and laughing. Staff all really lovely and helpful. Not to be missed
High speed RIB trip – Really great experience with family and adrenaline trip on a high speed RIB ride. Really recommended and even saw the harbour seal which was cool
Powerboat tour – what a blast! – We went on the powerboat tour along the coastline and it was superb. The staff were very friendly, helpful and informative – we learnt about the local area, the mining history (brave men) and the local nature, as well as having a blast on the 600-horse powered rib. It was a bit choppy and the lads did their best to give use a smooth dry ride, but a lot of the fun was riding the big waves and getting wet.

"We have been to New Quay for the past 4 years and every year we make sure we go on the dolphin spotting boats. They are the only boats we go on as they are so good! Always polite, useful information, stops with amazing dolphin views if they are spotted. They have a good rule where if they are on a certain side of the boat some have to stay seated so those behind can see! My 4 year old, my partner and I loves these trips highly recommended 5 stars."
"Really friendly retail staff and crew helped make everything so clear. Fully licensed and vetted craft and just watching them on and around the boat helps you feel secure and in safe hands. Really knowledgeable captain who also provides info on the coastal features and the dolphins. We had a few come right up close and underneath the boat - such a memorable experience and a highlight of our holiday. Seriously considering doing it again before we leave!"
"We went for the 1 hour excursion Wasn’t expecting to see so many dolphins, as soon as we set off there were dolphins, right next to the pier, the most time we went without seeing a dolphin was probably 10 mins, would recommend, staff friendly and very informative, rear a review where someone got wet and wasn’t happy, you will get wet because your at sea that’s what happens, would definitely go again and maybe take the 2 hour excursion."
"Well done guys you looked after the whole family yesterday including our 7 month old grandson nothing was too much trouble for you and the information about the area was very interesting. As a bonus, I even caught some fish once again a big thank you and hope to book with you again this summer."
