Second time - Amazing again! Thanks Bird! This is my second trip to Chiang Mai.

I was here two years ago and used Asia Plus Travel with Bird and he took me on two different full day private tours.

This trip I brought my elderly mother and Bird made the booking so easy.

His prices are great compared to others. The car was nice and new.

And he is a very informed guide who is super flexible with shorter or longer stops as well as customizing the day however you want.

Nhai was our driver and was also excellent. Thanks Bird for another great trip! See you next trip too!

Reliable and caring tour We travelled with our boys age 11 and 8. The tour operator was careful and details in every aspect.

They rang me the day before the tour to confirm time to meet at the hotel lobby. The journey was fantastic.

Boys are happy with the tour. We visited all the itinerary specified in the tour.

Tour guide was friendly and considerate.

After the tour we were dropped off at a hotel in Chiang Rai, hassle free.

Definitely recommend this tour to family with children.

Reliable service and attention to details As we have booked our day tour to Chiang Rai & Golden Triangle Private Tour at pretty late, we are surprised that we were given confirmation. One day prior to the trip, I gave a call to follow up and was confirmed that pick up would be at our hotel as promised. However, on the day of the pick up, the guide, Ne Ne, was waiting for us outside the hotel instead of the lobby which would have been easier to spot. Other than this, she was attentive and ensured that my mother was looked after since she has a knee problem. The driver of the day was excellent ensuring that we are on schedule considering the long ride we had for the day. The guide also made slight changes to the flow of the trip so as to beat the crowd during this season. Overall, we would strongly recommend this agency due to its personalized service and if there are not so pleasant experience it would be that as written in the itinerary, lunch would have been by the river but we ended up in a simple restaurant that catered to tourists which have expected a better choice. Another aspect was that if I have not read from the review here, I would not have known there was an option to go to Laos via boat at our own expenses which Ne Ne did not highlight till we asked. However, as this was a private tour, we are allowed to make longer/shorter stops at each location to cater to our needs which is very good.

Faultless I can’t recommend Asian Plus Travel (also known as BIRD) enough. They operate all over northern Thailand and can apparently even organise trips into Myanmar via their sister company there. We were immensely impressed by: their faultless service; competitive prices; the sheer choice of day and half day trips and tours on offer; their new, clean, spacious vehicles; our knowledgeable guide and excellent drivers; and by Ms Prissna Nattip who was highly accommodating and prompt at answering any queries or questions. We booked a number of their services online before we left for Thailand and were given special rates. Half an hour before our first tour we were met at our hotel by their booking agent and settled the bill with her (cash was requested because of the special deal). On arriving in Chiang Mai we’d decided to cancel our driver and van for a customised 6 hour shopping spree for the next day and this decision was accepted without questions, fuss or penalties. Private Chiang Mai Temples & City + Doi Suthep Temple Tour: Polli (apologies for the spelling!) our guide for this half day tour proved knowledgeable, kind and eager and his English was excellent. Tun lacked English but was a careful and defensive driver. Both were once monks and offered up interesting insights into their previous lives. Apart from Doi Suthep (stunning location, but the stalls lining the roads sell goods at inflated prices - the fried insects were 100 Baht and 10 Baht to photograph them, whereas you can get them for 20 Baht downtown and snap pictures to your heart’s content for free), we visited the Wat Phra Singh (don’t miss the old Viharn Lai Kham) and Wat Chedi Luang (my favourite) down in Chiang Mai. A very enjoyable way to spend an afternoon. Private transfer to and from Pai: their rates for a van (accommodating 10 passengers - way too big for the two of us) and driver were competitive and the drivers we had for both legs drove carefully. Although we’d been warned that a. the road to Pai was long and curvy and that b. the English of drivers couldn’t be assured, Pat’s was particularly good and both drove so well the curves were never an issue. Water was provided and stops were made at various coffee shops. The trip took just over 3.5 hours. Our request to leave Pai early was met and all stops were pulled to ensure this was done. Granted it was low season (at least for this company which apparently deals mostly with Spanish tourists which might explain the lack of reviews), but Asian Plus Travel provides a high level of guest satisfaction and operates efficiently, with good staff and new vehicles. I would recommend them unconditionally and will look them up again if ever we return to northern Thailand.

They delivered I did the tour with Asian Plus of Chiang Rai & Golden Triangle etc. Many operators offer this & indeed I looked at a few, costing less than I paid for this but as a solo traveller & a very tall one I wanted to be assured of comfort & being able to move at my own pace. I got all that with a very nice car, a good driver & a great guide in Art who was enjoyable company. It was a long day that took in some hot springs mostly welcome for excellent coffee at market stalls, the White Temple, the Myanmar border with its stalls of Chinese tat, great lunch overlooking the valley with views of all 3 countries, a boat ride on the Mekong with visit to the Laos village and it's counterfeit goods as well as Snake Whisky, and inevitable Karen Long Neck Hill Tribe. Boxes ticked but I didn't feel as if I was just slotted in to another perfunctory, clock driven round trip. Everything up front was professional, Art showed up not only on time but popped round the night before, and I got more than the tourist guidebook spiel. Recommended.

I was recommended Asian Plus Travel by an Australian friend who has used them a few times. As I was travelling on my own I was keen to use a personal guide and have a bespoke tour. Well my guide, Bird (owner of Asian Plus Travel) could not have done more to make my holiday one of my most amazing and enjoyable holidays ever. His preparation and attention to detail was second to none. I was sent an itinerary well before I arrived so we could modify this if I wanted (which I did) He was a very knowledgable entertaining and friendly guide and someone who clearly cares about his clients and ensuring that they have the best experience possible. I was driven in a brand new Toyota car by Ben who was a very careful and safe driver and went out his way to help. Being local Bird knew the best places to eat (where the locals go) all of which were very inexpensive. I can’t give you a highlight of the trip as it was all so amazing. I think though the lasting feeling is now one of making new lasting friends and developing an understanding of the culture and people of Northern Thailand. Obviously a private bespoke tour is not the cheapest way to travel but I would highly recommend it as with Asian Plus Travel and Bird you get to see so much more, at your own pace and without being herded along like cattle in a large tour group so I the end it offers outstanding value for money and makes the whole experience so much more enriching.

As a traveller from USA, Canada you will need an adaptor for types C, E, F. As a traveller from England, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa you will need an adaptor for types A, B, C, E, F.
