Live reviews

It was one of the most amazing experiences ever! Eddie was communicating with the crowd and somehow made everyone feel special... The concert took place at The Deaf Institute in Manchester, and now I know why the place is called like this :D It was my first planned gig experience, I went alone and wasn't bored even for a second. When the show ended, everyone in the crowd started screaming: "WE WANT MORE", so the guys, without any hesitation, came back to the stage and performed three more songs. It was a total blast, worth every penny. Afterwards, they took time to talk to every single person that wanted to take a picture, an autograph or anything else. Very down to earth and extremely talented. The LIVE session was one of the best things I've ever seen.I had the time of my life and couldn't be more grateful <3 Bloody brilliant!

I love this band. All of their songs speak to me and "Stronger" was the song that gave me motivation and inspiration while going through my divorce.

This is the 2nd time I have seen them and they put on a great show both times. Lots of energy.

I love their song writing. They have a magical way of putting feelings into words.

Can't wait to see them again.

This concert was absolutely amazing!!! This was the best day of my life. The opener The Orphan The Poet were absolutely amazing! With the bands being immersive and interactive with the fans, just increased their stellar performance. The lighting and effects used were amazing and the bands were all around just completely impressive!

Awesome! They absolutely killed it. So good. Had a blast! The Score brought the house down.... They performed an encore which was legend and afterwards they hung around and people were able to meet and greet with the guys. Liked the opening bands as well. All in all a good time!

Amazing show! Amazing band!!

I especially love the light show that went with their music. They have nice aesthetics.

The microphone at the venue stopped working a few times but they played it off well.

I would definitely go see them again if they go on another tour!

Get The Score tickets now to see an amazing performance live by a great entertainer. In 2015 The Score was an unknown independent songwriting duo based in New York struggling to make an impression in the music industry when a major UK supermarket chain, Asda, adopted songs for a new advertising campaign. The song was 'Oh My Love' and the resulting TV exposure helped it reach number 30 in the UK charts and number 37 in the US. The duo was quickly signed by Republic and their music began to appear in film and TV advertising products including  Power Rangers (2017) and Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip (2015).

Capitalizing on the exposure they received through the advertising the group released its debut EP Where Do You Run in 2015. This was followed by EPs Unstoppable (2016) and Myths & Legends (2017) before The Score released their debut studio album Atlas in October 2017. The group began experimenting with new music with the release of the track "Stronger", which debuted on the band's 2019 EP, Pressure . That same year they released the EP Stay in anticipation of the release of their sophomore album Carry On in 2020. Get your The Score tickets today!

The Fugees are reuniting for their first world tour in 25 years

In celebration of their best-selling album The Score, the popular hip-hop group will reunite for its first shows in 15 years.

The Fugees are back, in a return that marks the band's first world tour in 25 years and their first shows in 15 years.

On Tuesday, it was announced that the legendary hip-hop band — which includes Lauryn Hill , Wyclef Jean , and Pras Michel — will reunite in celebration of their 1996 album The Score .

The 12-city international tour kicks off Wednesday in New York City with an intimate pop-up show at an undisclosed location in support of Global Citizen Live , "a once-in-a-generation global broadcast event calling on world leaders to defend the planet and defeat poverty, to air on Saturday." Fans can find out how to earn tickets by visiting http://GlobalCitizen.org/Fugees . Go to the Global Citizen Live website to find out how you can watch the show on Saturday.

Performances will continue Nov. 2 in Chicago as the band makes its way around the globe, with the final shows taking place in Nigeria and Ghana.

"The Fugees have a complex but impactful history. I wasn't even aware the 25th anniversary had arrived until someone brought it to my attention," Hill said in a statement. "I decided to honor this significant project, its anniversary, and the fans who appreciated the music by creating a peaceful platform where we could unite, perform the music we loved, and set an example of reconciliation for the world."

Wyclef added, "As I celebrate 25 years with the Fugees, my first memory was that we vowed, from the gate, we would not just do music, we would be a movement. We would be a voice for the unheard, and in these challenging times, I am grateful once again, that God has brought us together."

"The Fugees was and is more than a group – it's a legacy," Michel said. "Our fans have always known what we stood for, so to be able to come back together after 15 years proves anything is possible. Today, more than ever, a reunion feels right and is just what people need to spread the love. This tour represents more than music — we are celebrating 25 years of The Score , 15 years since our last performance as the Fugees, and partnering with Global Citizen to give back on an international scale."

He added, "Time may have passed, but our fans kept up with us, and that means everything to me. I can't wait to spread the love again… music heals, and I think we all can agree we need that right now."

Tickets for the tour go on sale to the general public Friday, Sept. 24, at 10 a.m. ET at LiveNation.com .

Despite only being together for five years and two albums, The Fugees made a lasting impact on the world of hip-hop. First debuting as the Tranzlator Crew in the early '90s, the band became known for their Caribbean influences and sharp rapping, releasing their first album Blunted on Reality in 1994. Two years later, the release of The Score — featuring an innovative cover of Roberta Flack's "Killing Me Softly" — propelled the band to fame as the seven-time platinum, Grammy-winning album became one of the bestselling albums of all time.

The Score remained The Fugees' only certified hit before the group disbanded, with its members pursuing solo careers. The group reunited briefly in 2005 for the single "Take It Easy" but until now, a real reunion has never come to fruition.

Ready or Not: The Fugees to Reunite for Tour Celebrating 25th Anniversary of ‘The Score’

By Jon Blistein

Jon Blistein

Lauryn Hill , Wyclef Jean , and Pras Michel will reunite as the Fugees and play their first shows in 15 years to mark the 25th anniversary of their 1996 classic, The Score .

The trek will properly launch in November, but Wednesday, September 22nd, the Fugees will play a special gig in New York City at an undisclosed location. The show will be filmed for the upcoming broadcast event, Global Citizen Live , airing September 25th. Those wishing to attend the concert can register for a chance to get tickets on the Global Citizen website .

A seven-date North American run will kick off for real November 2nd at the United Center in Chicago and wrap November 28th at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. In December, the Fugees will play shows in Paris, London, Nigeria, and Ghana.

Tickets for those shows will go on sale on September 24th at 10 a.m. local time via Live Nation and Vivid Seats . The Fugees’ charitable fund also plans to link up with Global Citizen for some philanthropic efforts around the tour.

“The Fugees have a complex but impactful history,” Hill said in a statement. “I wasn’t even aware the 25th anniversary had arrived until someone brought it to my attention. I decided to honor this significant project, its anniversary, and the fans who appreciated the music by creating a peaceful platform where we could unite, perform the music we loved, and set an example of reconciliation for the world.”

Jean added, “As I celebrate 25 years with the Fugees, my first memory was that we vowed, from the gate, we would not just do music we would be a movement. We would be a voice for the unheard, and in these challenging times, I am grateful once again, that God has brought us together.”

The Fugees emerged in the early Nineties, dropping their debut album, Blunted on Reality , in 1994, before releasing The Score two years later. The album was an instant classic, thanks in large part to the success of an innovative cover of Roberta Flack’s “Killing Me Softly,” as well as singles like “Ready or Not” and “Fu-Gee-La.”

Although the Fugees didn’t disband after The Score , tensions between the members were high and they largely focused on solo projects (Hill released her seminal solo album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill , in 1998). After releasing one more single, “Take It Easy,” in 2005, the Fugees officially split. While reconciliation long seemed out of the question due to frayed relationships, rumors and talk of a possible reunion had increased in recent years.

The Score represents a snapshot of Fugees’ brief but brilliant reign atop the music world. After first coming together as  Tranzlator Crew as high school students in New Jersey, the group signed to  Columbia Records imprint  Ruffhouse in 1993 and changed their name to “Fugees”—short for “refugees”—reappropriating a word typically used to Haitian-Americans in a derogatory manner.

Fugees released their debut,  Blunted on Reality , in 1994 and returned with  The Score two years later. The sophomore album quickly exploded in popularity, eventually picking up a pair of Grammy Awards in 1997 (for the album as a whole as well as for “Killing Me Softly”) and going Platinum seven times over.

While  The Score  remains one of the most influential hip-hop records of the era, the remainder of the Fugees story has been marked by hostility . While the group didn’t officially break up, all three members began working on solo projects in 1997. Hill’s seminal solo album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill , was released the following year.

The group famously reunited onstage in 2004 to perform as part of Dave Chappelle’s Block Party , and rode that momentum through a brief 2005 reunion for a short set at the BET Music Awards , a few scattered tour dates, and a lone single (“Take It Easy”), but creative disputes over new material and other intra-band conflicts prompted the Fugees to disband once again in 2006.

The band did not leave things on good terms. As Wyclef told  Blues & Soul in 2007, “I feel the first issue that needs to be addressed is that Lauryn needs help… In my personal opinion, those Fugees reunion shows shouldn’t have been done, because we wasn’t ready. I really felt we shoulda first all gone into a room with Lauryn and a psychiatrist… But, you know, I do believe Lauryn can get help. And, once she does work things out. Hopefully a proper and enduring Fugees reunion will happen.”

With the 2021 tour marking 25 years of The Score , the Fugees members hope to bury the hatchet and celebrate the timeless music they made together.

In a press statement along with the announcement, Hill said, “The Fugees have a complex but impactful history. I wasn’t even aware the 25th anniversary had arrived until someone brought it to my attention. I decided to honor this significant project, its anniversary, and the fans who appreciated the music by creating a peaceful platform where we could unite, perform the music we loved, and set an example of reconciliation for the world.”

Jean added, “As I celebrate 25 years with the Fugees, my first memory was that we vowed, from the gate, we would not just do music, we would be a movement. We would be a voice for the un-heard, and in these challenging times, I am grateful once again, that God has brought us together.”

THE THE

The Official Newsletter remains the first place for you to receive breaking news such as upcoming concerts, future album releases and projects, and special offers.

Choose how you want to receive communication for all tour updates including merchandise offers, new dates and exclusive content.

The Ensouled World Tour (which commences after Ensoulment is released on 6th September) will not have a support act, but instead be comprised of two sets, with an intermission in between.

Set one will be the new album, ensoulment , in its entirety. set two will be a retrospective set of the the classics*.

* Our concert in Dublin is the only date listed below where we DO have a support act, the brilliant A Lazarus Soul ! As such, we will be performing a single set rather than two but one that features songs from the new album rather than the new album in entirety.

Please see below a complete list of all tickets now available to purchase.

In the UK, Europe, Australia and New Zealand, we have once again partnered with Twickets so that you can buy / sell spare tickets at the price they were meant to be sold for, protecting both buyers and sellers from fraud and overpricing. So if a show is SOLD OUT and you are looking for tickets, or if you can no longer attend one of our concerts, see our official Twickets page HERE .

In the USA and Canada, we also want to give our supporters, not scalpers, the best chance to buy tickets at face value. To help achieve this, the tour will be using Ticketmaster’s Face Value Exchange  where, if needed, you can resell your ticket to other fans at the original price paid. To help protect the Exchange, THE THE has also chosen to make tickets for this tour mobile only and restricted from transfer.* Please note, a valid bank account or debit card within the country of your event is required to sell on the Face Value Exchange.

*New York, Illinois, Colorado, Virginia and Connecticut have passed state laws requiring unlimited ticket resale and limiting artists’ ability to determine how their tickets are resold. To adhere to local law, tickets in these states will not be restricted from transfer but the artist encourages fans to use the Face Value Exchange.
