The largest agricultural event on the eastern seaboard and the sixth-largest fair in the nation. The Big E is inclusive of all six of the New England states: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont. Each of the New England states is prominently represented at the fair.

Located in the Pioneer Valley of Western Massachusetts, a short distance from the Memorial Bridge spanning the Connecticut River, The Big E is held every autumn in West Springfield, Massachusetts. Each year, the fair opens on the second Friday after Labor Day and runs for seventeen days.

I've never had a problem until I was forced to use a wheelchair. On Moinday, May 3rd, at 9:15 am I boarded the bus (a senior citizen shopping trip) heading to OPrice Chopper plaza on Hoosick Street, Troy NY, for a 1-hour shopping excursion. It all went to hell from there. At Price Chopper the lift malfunctioned and I couldn't get off the bus. The driver laughed, "It's Monday"., I was forced to ride around to pick up and drop off other shoppers for several hours (4.75) before a mechanic appeared to fix the bus enough for me to get off. I had a short time to shop quickly and got on a new bus with a working lift to go home. The driver who caused the problem, now driving the new bus. Once again, she could not get the lift to work when we arrived at my apartment building on Federal St Took my grocery bags and dumped them onto the sidewalk causing two bottles of dish detergent to coat all of my other purchases. Once more I spent 1.5 hrs unable to get off the lift that was stuck partway down. I will never ride with this driver again. She had passengers ridiculing me as though her ineptness and lack of training were somehow my fault. I have never been so embarrassed. Not once was I offered a beverage, she refused to turn off the air conditioning (I was freezing ), and the only thing repeated to me by everyone was "If you gotta go to the bathroom, hold it" At the end of the day, I didn't make the bathroom at Price Chopper (couldn't hold it any longer). What products I did purchase were 75% ruined by dish soap and bleach that leaked all over them. I missed a doctor appt (2 pm) transportation and a lunch date. All in all, a wasted day that cost me $65 in food and other items that had to be discarded. No compensation was offered for anything. I thought they would have called my building mgr so they could contact me but they did not.

Where are the day trips this season? That's all you've got is Boston and NYC for the spring/summer?? For the most part, shopping and the zoo, that's about it. Where are the New England trips? Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island....Vermont? Who wants to go to the ocean at Cape Cod /Martha's Vineyard at the end of September when it's 50 degrees out and you have to wear a sweater? Come on, step it up. Give us some enticing day trips instead of the same old, same old.

B rown Coach is looking for a Heavy Truck & Bus Mechanic. Prospective employee must be able to obtain  CDL B with passenger endorsement and pass DOT physical with drug screen. We have a fleet of around 25 motorcoaches and mini buses. Employees must have own tools. Electrical, Diagnostic and Air Conditioning experience a plus. 2015 Motorcoach Operator of the Year

Brown Coach of Amsterdam, NY, was named Metro Magazine’s “2015 Motorcoach Operator of the Year.” Metro is one of the oldest and largest magazines in the world devoted entirely to the public transportation industry, especially its motorcoach and transit industry segments. Metro General Manager James Blue presented Robert and Stephen Brown, Brown Coach President and Vice President, respectively, with the award at the UMA (United Motorcoach Association) Expo in January in New Orleans.  

Brown Coach and its affiliate company, Upstate Transit of Saratoga LLC, which the brothers purchased in 2005, have a combined fleet of 49 motorcoaches providing charter, commuter and tour services. Their focus is primarily on the Northeastern United States and Eastern Canadian provinces. Additionally, they also have 3 school bus companies with a combined total of 225 school buses as well as Brown Tours and Upstate Tours, which offer motorcoach tours to destinations all over the U.S.
