In any Istanbul tour, it’s essential to include a Bosphorus cruise, as the Bosphorus and its shores are by far the most beautiful part of Istanbul, a “garland of waters” bounding and dividing the city and offering incomparable views and places to see including nature, geography, history and sightseeing.

The Bosphorus has been described in many beautiful ways throughout history by poets, travellers, royals and diplomats. Here’s a few of them:

To understand Istanbul is to understand how its maritime nature and unusual geography has influenced its character and history to shape how it is today. And to cruise Istanbul by boat includes some of the best things to see and do in Istanbul:

Things to See on a Bosphorus Cruise

There are many ways of cruising possible depending on your budget and preferences from the basic Turyol, Dentur and Sehir Hatlari ferries to private yacht tours like Zoe Yacht.

Alighting your boat from any of several docks, a typical Bosphorus cruise will take you on a loop of Istanbul’s most striking monuments through the Bosporus Strait. At over 30 meters long, you can cover almost half of the strait in a short-circle cruise (2 hours), or all of it in a full-circle or long cruise (4-6 hours). Depending on your starting point, you may enter and exit this sightseeing loop at any point and take a cruise past the following touristic places:

In the lower Bosphorus, close to Sultanahmet Old City and the downtown center is Kabataş , a bustling transfer hub for land and sea. Just beyond is the Dolmabahce Mosque and its baroque clocktower, dating from the 1850s and designed by the Balyan Brothers, famous Amenian architects of the period.

This is followed by the Dolmabahce Palace , or “Filled In Garden”, taking its name form its small inlet which was filled in to create this imperial palace and which later replaced Topkapi Palace as the Sultans’ preferred residence. Built in the 19 th century it is one of the most glamorous palaces in the world and has a white marble façade of over 280 meters along the seafront.

Further on is Beşiktaş or “Cradle Stone” a busy town bursting with students and ferry landing port, followed by Ciragan Palace . Built for Sultan Abdul Aziz in 1874, he died here soon after being deposed and the palace housed his successors in a virtual prison for the next thirty years. It later served a brief stint as the place of Turkish Parliament in 1908, until it was burnt down in a fire and restored into one of the most luxury Istanbul hotels.

Passing the next village of Ortakoy, or Middle Village, look out for Ortakoy Mosque , a distinctive mosque in a mix of baroque and other styles jutting out on a promontory at the water’s edge, built by the Balyan brothers in 1854. Little cafes and a street market surround it making for a relaxing half day trip another day.

Marvel at the graceful First Bosphorus Bridge , the fourth largest suspension bridge in the world and built in the early seventies. It is 1,074 m (3,524 ft) long and was completed in 1973. This is one of the locals’ hidden places to make a wedding proposal in Istanbul, with a laser able to project personal messages for boat-goers under the bridge for a surprise. By night or under the moonlight, the bridge is lit in a rainbow of colors with beautiful reflections on the water.

Cruising on to Arnavutköy , this is a pretty Albanian village and one of the quaintest quays along the shore. Its seafront is lined with yalıs (wooden mansions from the Ottoman era), moored with fishing boats of every shape and size and numerous restaurants (including several of the best fish restaurants for seafood dining in Istanbul). Off Arnavutköy is the deepest point of the Bosphorus Strait at 100 meters, at the cape called Akıntı Burnu .

Rounding this cape, you’ll enter the calm waters of Bebek Bay , backed by verdant rolling hills, umbrella pines and cypresses, and home to some of Istanbul’s society and celebrities. Here yachts and mega-yachts abound. Gaze at the attractive Egyptian Embassy building with boats bobbing at the landing stage at the entrance of the village park. Up on the Northern ward hills are the Bosphorus University buildings, reputable as one of the finest institutions of higher learning in Turkey.

The cruise sweeps the bay and heads towards Rumeli Hisari Fortress, dominated by turrets and steep walls to keep out invaders. Situated at the narrowest point with 660 meters of the Bosporus strait, just opposite of the Anadolu Hisarı on the Anatolian side, another Ottoman fortress, which was built between 1393 and 1394. Known as “Boğaz-kesen” or cutthroat, it was not only used as a prison but as the perfect location for Sultan Mehmet to launch his conquest of Istanbul, cutting off the city’s communication beyond.

If you’re on a full-day or long Bosphorus Cruise, then you’ll also continue to Sariyer , a fishing village especially for catches from the Black Sea and Buyuk Lıman , a shallow and tranquil bay with a golden sandy beach surrounded by an acacia groved valley. This makes for an ideal stop in the summer for day trips and swimming tours.

Crossing to the Asiatic shore of the Middle Bosphorus at some point in your boat tour, you’ll glide under the the Fatih Sultan Mehmet (Bosphorus II) Bridge , ever famous in history as the location where King Darius of Persia constructed a bridge of boats from which to launch an attack in 512 BC and cross to the Asian Side. It is 1,090 m (3,576 ft) long, and was completed in 1988 about 5 km (3 mi) north of the first bridge. It forms part of the Trans-European Motorway.

Near the Northern end of the Bosphorus and entrance to the Black Sea, is Anadolu Kavagi village, a traditional fishing village. Perched on the hilltop above it is Yoros Castle , the Genoese ruins of fortifications from the 1780s, offering a superb viewpoint of almost the entire course of the Bosphorus from end to end, Marmara Sea to Black Sea. At 200 meters, this is the second highest hill on the Bosphorus, known today as “Joshua Hill”, or anciently as “Hercules Hill” or the “ Giant’s Grave “, due to a twelve-meter long hollow in the hill, and as in Byron’s poems:

“Tis a grand sight from off the Giant’s Grave To watch the progress of those rolling seas Between the Bosphorus…” (from a poem by G.G.N.Byron)

After a break hop on your Bosphorus boat cruise again and sail by the Bay of Beykoz or “Prince Walnut”, a calm bay and popular for swimming if you’re on a swimming cruise. In the past this was also a favorite location for catching swordfish using a traditional “ Dalyan “, a kind of wooden structure on stilts over the water with one man posted above to lookout for and heard any approaching swordfish into set fishing nets.

Cruise on Southwards to Kanlıca , an un-spoilt village with a square of plane trees, a famous stop for travellers throughout the ages for its local yogurt. En route you’ll see another hilltop landmark, a charming Art-Nouveau style palace with huge tower belonging to the Viceroy of Egypt from 1900, now a restored hotel with handsome gardens.

Around here you may notice an usual building on stilts in the water – Currently under restoration, this was once the beautiful front room of an exquisite yalı , dating from 1698, with elaborate design, including spectacular floral and geometric paneling and motifs.

Next up is the Anadolu Hısarı or Anatolian Fortress , right opposite the Rumeli Fortress. Built in 1390 by Beyazit the Thunderbolt it has a keep and three towers and was known locally as “Güzelce”, or “Pretty One.”

Now lookout for the mouth of the “ Sweet Waters of Asia “, two little streams called the “Göksu” (Sky Stream) and the Küçüksü (Little Stream) separated by a meadow and the Kucuksu Palace.

The seaside Kucuksu Palace was once an imperial residence for the Sultans dating from the 1850s and used as a base for hunting day trips or visiting signatories. Today it’s a museum.

Next to the palace is one of the largest yalıs of the Bosphorus, the Kıbrıslı Mustafa Emin Paşa Yalısı dating from 1760. With mostly one story and a façade over 60 meters long, it is one of the grandest yalıs with massive ball room, marble pool and fountain and its own harem.

Moving on, you’ll cruise by Kandilli , where the most beautiful series of Yalıs on the Bosphorus can be found, such as the Count Ostorog Yalı of 1790. Watch out for these and the pretty village of Çengelköy , its square surrounded by plane trees with a baroque fountain.

Continuing on our cruise, you’ll approach the 1st Bosphorus Bridge again. Near its base is the village of Beylerbeyi and Beylerbeyi Mosque , a baroque style mosque from the 1770s, followed by Beylerbeyi Palace itself, dating from the later 1800’s and built by the Balyan brothers. This was a sumptuous lodge to house visiting Royals, including the Shah of Persia and Emperors & Empresses from Europe.

Next look out for an attractive yalı that is at the pretty village of Kuzcuncuk , followed by the modern town and bustling ferry port at Uskudar . Just beyond here you’ll see a small man-made island in the sea, known as Maiden’s Tower , Leander’s Tower or Kız Kulesi, a major photo backdrop of the city and one of the best spots to see the sunset over Istanbul by boat.

The world’s narrowest strait connects the Black Sea with the Sea of Marmara (which contains the Princes Islands and is connected by the Dardanelles to the Aegean Sea, and thereby to the Mediterranean Sea).

The strait is 31 km (17 nautical miles) long, with a width of 3,329 m (1.798 nautical miles).

Its maximum width is 3,420 m (1.85 nautical miles) between Umuryeri and Büyükdere Limanı.

The depth of the Bosphorus varies from 36 to 124 m (118 to 407 ft). The deepest location is between Kandilli and Bebek with 110 m (360 ft).

It is called the Bosphorus Strait rather than the Bosphorus River, as rivers don’t usually connect two seas or divide two continents.

• Istanbul & Black Sea Tour - 8 days (Istanbul-Trabzon-Uzungöl)

Tour Information

An 8-day tour package visiting Istanbul and Trabzon with domestic flights. With this package, you will be having historical insight of the Old City visiting Blue Mosque, St. Sophia Museum, Topkapi Palace, Suleymaniye Mosque and Chora Church; and see the natural beauties of Trabzon, visiting Sumela Monastery, Altindere Valley, Surmene Village and Uzungol. This tour is operates with regular group tours in Istanbul and private tours in Trabzon.

Day 1 : Arrival to Istanbul: One of our colleagues will be waiting for you at the arrival hall bearing a sign of Efendi Travel. He/she will accompany you to our vehicle and you will be transferred directly to your hotel. Accommodation in Istanbul.

Day 2 : Istanbul City Tour: You will be picked up from your hotel at around 08:30. You will visit: Hagia Sophia , Blue Mosque, Roman Hippodrome Grand Bazaar After lunch you will see: Topkapi Palace , Hagia Irene   and the tour ends about 16:30 and back to hotel Accommodation in Istanbul. (breakfast at hotel, lunch on the tour) Please note that Topkapi Palace is closed on Tuesdays and Grand Bazaar is closed on Sundays. Blue Mosque will not be visited on Fridays.

Day 3 : Bosphorus and Two Continents Tour : Pick up time is about 08.30 from the hotel. You will visit : Golden Horn ( from the bus ), Spice Bazaar (Egyptian Bazaar) and then have a boat cruise on Bosphorus. You will also view Imperial gardens of Royal Yildiz Palace, Çiragan Palace Hotel Kempinski and Beylerbeyi Palace during the tour. After lunch, you will drive to the Asian Side of Istanbul, and you will have a unique chance to step from one continent (Europe) to another (Asian) side in 2 minutes using the Bosphorus Bridge. The first stop is Beylerbeyi Palace which is the summer residence of Ottoman Sultans with its original furniture and magnificent gardens with Harem.  The next stop is Camlica Hill which is the highest natural point in Istanbul.  At the top of it you can rest and admire the magnificent panorama of Istanbul and Bosphorus from the beautiful gardens, landscaped in traditional style. After the tour, your guide will drop you off at your hotel at around 18:00. Accommodation in Istanbul. (breakfast at hotel, lunch on the tour)

Day 4 : Flight to Trabzon: (check out from hotel until noon)You will be picked up from your hotel at around 13:00 to be transferred to Airport to take an afternoon flight to Trabzon. Upon your arrival, you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel in Trabzon and Accommodation in Trabzon (breakfast at hotel)

Day 5 : Trabzon City Tour: You will picked up from your hotel at around 09:00 for the tour of Trabzon and depart for Sumela Monastery, visit the 4th century Sumela Monastery, clings to a sheer cliff face in a deep forest, relax beside a fast flowing stream at Altindere Valley National Park, return to city center and visit Ayasofya Church, a 13th century church and study extraordinary collection of byzantine frescoes, depart for Gulbahar Hatun Mosque, Ataturk's Mansion (a picturesque hillside retreat) visit Ortahisar Mosque (a Comneni cathedral in the old town) drive to Boztepe, enjoy your tea with the panoramic view of the city. After the tour, you will be dropped off at your hotel at around 16:00. Accommodation Trabzon. (breakfast at hotel, lunch on the tour)

Day 6 : Surmene & Uzungol Tour: You will be picked up from your hotel at around 09:00 for the tour. Departure to Surmene – a pretty village which is popular with its good quality knives and we also visit the historical mansion of Memisaga Konagi. There will be a short visit to one of the local tea producer factories en route and we taste delicious and traditional Turkish tea. Around 13.00, we arrive in Uzungol where you will have free time for your lunch, pasturel walks and photograph opportunities. Uzungol – which is located in the middle of mountains, was formed by a landslide having blocked the stream bed is known as Uzungol and the town around was named after the lake. The houses of the village called ‘Å�erah’, which are harmonious with the environment, complete the beauty of the nature. At around 17:00, you will get on the vehicle and start driving for Trabzon, stopping for a short photo stop at Kiremitli Bridge and arrive at your hotel at around 18:30. Accommodation in Trabzon (breakfast at hotel, lunch on the tour) 

Day 7 : (check out from hotel until noon) You will be picked up from your hotel at around 13:00 to be transferred to Trabzon Airport to take 15:35 flight to Istanbul. Upon your arrival, you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel. Accommodation in Istanbul. (breakfast at hotel).

Day 8 : You will be picked up from your hotel depending on your flight time and will be transferred directly to New Airport . If you would like, we can make further arrangements in Istanbul and other parts of Turkey upon request.

Day 4: Istanbul Breakfast at the hotel. You will have a free day to relax and enjoy yourself in the city. Overnight in Istanbul.

Day 5:   Green Bursa Day Tour Breakfast at the hotel. You will be picked up from your hotel in Istanbul and transferred to the meeting point. After meeting with other tour participants and tour guides, your Bursa day tour from Istanbul will start. Drive to the port where we will take the car ferry from Eskihisar. Then we drive to Olympos mountain , join to included chairlift for climbing through to the mountain than barbecue lunch, free time for Atv safari or ski motor and skiing (with extra charge), 600 hundred old plane tree. Visit Yesil Camii ( Green Mosque & Tomb) , Silk House Bazaar . At the end of the tour we will drive to the ferry station and car ferry from Yalova to Eskihisar then drive to Istanbul. Late evening returns to Istanbul and transfers to hotel. Overnight in Istanbul.

Day 6 : Sapanca & Masukiye Day Tour Breakfast at the hotel. You will be picked up from your hotel and joined the group. We will drive to Masukiye Village where you draw attention to the greens. You will love the natural beauties of that town. When breathing air-filled oxygen your all exhaustion disappears in a moment. There are trees towering sky, many points to be discovered. Masukiye is famous for trout restaurants. You should exactly taste the trout served in the tile. After visiting Masukiye, we will have lunch at the restaurant. After lunch, we will drive to Kartepe. The adventurous passengers can climb the hill via chair lift (with extra charge in Kartepe) and take panoramic pictures of the view. You can also ride the quad bike (with extra charge in Kartepe) to experience a quite different entertainment way. After Kartepe, our next stop will be Sapanca Lake. Once we are in Sapanca, our guide will provide you with brief information regarding the place. You can have a walk by enjoying the excellent view of the lake during your free time and have Turkish tea by the lake.  We return to Istanbul and say bye until the next time At the end of the tour, return back to the hotel. Overnight in Istanbul.

Day 7: Istanbul Breakfast at the hotel. You will have a free day to relax and enjoy yourself in the city. Overnight in Istanbul.

Day 8: Flight from Istanbul to Trabzon Breakfast & Check out from the hotel before 11:30 pm. Free Time. Transfer to Istanbul Airport for your Trabzon flight. On arrival at Trabzon Airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel.  Check into the hotel. Rest of the day. Overnight in Trabzon.

Day 9:   Drive to Ayder Rize Breakfast at the hotel. Pick up from the hotel and make a short stop in Rize for panoramic views of the city from the Botanic Garden. Then we arrive at Firtina (Storm) Valley which takes us to Ayder Plateau. Before arriving in Ayder we will see Camlihemsin, Konaklar, Senyuva Bridge, Zil Kale. Gentle trekking to Goksu Fall which is the highest & most beautiful in the region, enjoy the panorama with many of waterfalls, stone bridges & lush green forests on the foothills of the magnificent Kackar Mt. Drive nack to Trabzon and Overnight in Trabzon.

Day 10: Trabzon Breakfast at the hotel. You will have a free day to relax and enjoy yourself in the city. Overnight in Trabzon.

Day 11:   Trabzon Tour and Drive to Uzungol After breakfast Check-out from the hotel before 11:30 am. Pick you up from the hotel and drive to Uzungol. Arrival at Uzungol. Rest of the day. Overnight in Uzungol. PS: Please note that according to season and availability we may accommodate you in Trabzon at the same hotel tonight.

Day 12: Uzungol Breakfast at the hotel. You will have a free day to relax and enjoy yourself in the city. Overnight in Uzungol.

Black sea region & istanbul, turkey: ingredients, traditions & more – sold out.

There’s so much to love about Turkey, so much that we keep returning with Chef Ana Sortun of Oleana and Sofra in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Traveling with Chef Ana is a wonderful gift, and being in Turkey with her is even better.

What You’ll Love about Your Week in Turkey

We can’t come to Turkey without spending time in magnificent and fascinating Istanbul.  You’ll have the opportunity to tour and learn about history and culture with Oguz Goncu, our longtime tourguide, as well as explore Turkish cuisine and ingredients with our great friend and food guide, Banu Ozden.  You’ll tour markets and street food, along with seeing the major historic-cultural sites – Topkapi, the Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque.

Ana has long been fascinated by the Black Sea region, and now you’ll have the chance to explore parts of the Black Sea region that most American tourists don’t visit.  Banu has found the iconic dishes, ingredients and restaurants; Oguz will take us to historic sites; and Chef Ana will be doing a cooking demonstration in the countryside outside of Kastamanou.

When we return to Istanbul, we’ll spend time on the Bosporus (ferry and private boat trip), and will spend part of the day on the Asia side of Istanbul touring food markets and having lunch at CIYA, one of Ana Sortun’s favorite restaurants anywhere. CIYA’s chef is Musa Dağdeviren, featured in Season 5 of Netflix’ The Chefs Table.

If you wish to stay on in Istanbul after the Culinaria, we have a one-day bonus program with either. Banu or Oguz, so you can explore places you missed.

Of course we’ll have wonderful meals throughout the week, and we’ve found that your fellow travelers become another highlight of traveling with Oldways.

Wednesday, May 14

Check into the Bank Hotel, our Istanbul hotel, unpack, and relax before we meet in the early evening for a Welcome Session, Wine Tasting & Dinner.

Thursday, May 15

In the morning, you have a choice of a cultural tour or a food tour.  Join our Turkish cultural guide, Oguz, for a tour of Topkapi, or take a morning food walking tour of the Egyptian (Spice) Bazaar and the Eminönü neighborhood with our food expert Banu. We’ll leave for the Istanbul Airport and our 5:00 pm Turkish Air flight to Sinop, a city known as a hidden gem on the southern shore of the Black Sea. After arriving in Sinop, we’ll check in at our hotel into the Sinop Antik Hotel and meet for a group dinner.

Friday, May 16

After breakfast, we will view Sinop from the sea via a short boat tour around Sinop Bay. This will give us a feel for the city, while Oğuz gives us the city’s history. After returning from the sea, we’ll visit Sinop Castle to dive into the city’s Roman and Seldjuk past. Lunch will be in a casual eatery, Mantıcı Melahat’in Mutfağı, for a local taste of mantı. After lunch, we will visit the Sinop Archeological Museum. Then, you will be on your own to explore the city and shop at your leisure.

Be sure to visit Gazi Street, a.k.a. Sinop Lover’s Street, in the city’s center. It is one of the most popular sightseeing areas of the city, offering a beautiful sunset view, a pleasant evening walk, flower gardens, palm trees, various cafes, and restaurants. You are free for dinner to enjoy one of Sinop’s local restaurants. We will include Banu’s restaurant suggestions in the program book.

Saturday, May 17

After breakfast, we will spend the day exploring some of Sinop’s specialty food shops. We will meet an artisanal candy maker, witness the making of “mantı” and “erişte,” and learn about the “lakerda” (salt-cured bonito fish) culture that Sinop has become famous for over the last few years. You will be on your own to have lunch and explore the city until we meet again for dinner. We will meet at the hotel lobby, and together, we will head to Saray Restaurant by the sea for our dinner.

Sunday, May 18

In the morning, we’ll check out of our hotel in Sinop and will drive inland about 2 ½ hours to Kastamonu, a city with rich culinary traditions.  We’ll go to the city center for lunch at the local eatery Münire Sultan Sofrası to taste Kastamonu’s local dishes. After lunch, we’ll explore the city’s cultural sights, such as the Kastamonu Clock Tower and Kastamonu City Museum, then head to İksir Resort Hotel, our hotel outside the city for Ana’s cooking demonstration, followed by a relaxing and traditional dinner.

Monday, May 19

We’ll leave our hotel in the morning and spend the day in the city of Kastamonu, focusing on food demonstrations and visiting a wooden utensil shop that Kastamonu is well known for.  We’ll end  the day with an early dinner and an evening flight from Kastamonu to Istanbul.  We’ll check in at the Bank Hotel again in the late evening.

Tuesday, May 20

Ana will start our morning with a spice presentation. Afterward, we’ll take the ferry to Kadikoy, on the Asian side of Istanbul. We’ll enjoy a spice and food tour with Ana and Banu in the Kadikoy Market area and then have lunch at CIYA, the famous Anatolian regional fare restaurant. After lunch, we’ll get on our private ferry and cruise along the Bosphorus before returning to our hotel. You will be free to experience the Istanbul restaurant scene in your evening.  Once again, you will have Banu’s restaurant suggestions in the program book.

Wednesday, May 21

Departures or for those of you want to stay another day in Istanbul, you can take one of the tours you missed at the beginning of the trip.  Take a cultural tour with Turkish cultural guide Oguz to Topkapi or a food walking tour of the Egyptian (Spice) Bazaar and the Eminönü neighborhood with our food expert Banu. For this bonus day, there is an additional charge (to extend your hotel reservation and for the tour).

During her childhood and adult life, İksir Hanım lived far from her native village Daday in Kastamonu because of her father’s official duty. Her dream now is to represent Daday and Kastamonu region’s natural beauties, history, local architecture, local arts and manufactures and develop local peoples life quality and also the sustainable agriculture via İksirli Farm.

Meet the Chefs/Experts

Our tour is led with Chef Ana Sortun of  Oleana Restaurant  and  Sofra Bakery & Café . Hailed as one of the country’s “most creative fusion practitioners,” Chef Ana Sortun was named the Best Chef Northeast by the James Beard Foundation in 2005 and has been lauded as “deeply inventive” by the  New York Times , and “a culinary genius” by  Boston Magazine  and in  Saveur . In 2016 and 2017 she was a James Beard semi finalist for Best Chef, general excellence.

Trained at La Varenne Ecole de Cuisine de Paris, Sortun opened Moncef Medebs Aigo Bistro in Concord, and then honed her skills at 8 Holyoke and Casablanca in Harvard Square. She opened Oleana in 2001 where her creative take on the rustic-traditional cuisines of the Middle East and her interpretation of the flavors of Turkey continue to receive rave reviews.

Ana and her business partner, Executive Pastry Chef Maura Kilpatrick, opened Sofra Bakery & Café in 2008. Then, in 2013, Ana, with chef Cassie Piuma, opened Sarma, a Turkish-style meze tavern.

Siena Farms, owned by Ana’s husband, Chris Kurth and named for their daughter, provides produce to the restaurants and underscores her commitment to fresh ingredients and healthy food. Ana is also involved with Oldways Preservation Trust which fosters good health by supporting the cultural food traditions of the Middle East and Mediterranean.

Banu Özden is a graduate of Business Administration from Clark University in Worcester, MA. She started her career at Bertucci’s Brick Oven Ristorante in Boston, as the kitchen manager. She returned to Turkey and started working at Istanbul Culinary Institute as Director of Educational Programs. She continued her work at The Culinary Arts Center, where she worked on several projects promoting Turkish cuisine including a website, lectures, and culinary trips. She has participated in several symposiums in New York, Oxford, Tours, Mexico City and Dublin where she talked about different aspects of Turkish cuisine.

Currently she is an instructor at culinary arts departments of İstanbul Medipol University, teaching history of Turkish cuisine, and a student of Sustainable Tourism Management Master’s program at the prestigious Bogazici University. She is also writes her own blog called Spoon in My Pocket where she talks about food and shares recipes. She has been designing and leading walking food tours around İstanbul and in gastronomy capitals of Turkey since 2009. She is a regular columnist for a bi-monthly food magazine called Food in Life.

Oguz has been our cultural tourguide in Turkey since 2007.  We wouldn’t dream of coming to Turkey without having Oguz as our guide.  Oguz has been a licensed tourguide for many years.

Flight information to Travel Destination

Fly in and out of Istanbul (IST).  Turkish Airlines has daily nonstop flights from a number of US cities.  Istanbul’s International airport is served by almost all carriers, but sometimes with a stop in a European city. Your registration fee includes domestic air flights within Turkey (Istanbul to Sinop and Kastamanou to Istanbul).
