First class super fun time. I was impressed with everything, I don't like to waste my time writing reviews but I had to after reading some idiots horrible review. We had so much fun and I was treated royally by the crew. I will definitely go back next year and everyone I met onboard was more than happy with everything. If you didn't have fun on that cruise you are a complete moron and you should probably just stay home from now on because you don't know how to have a good time. Bobby S.

Learned something interesting about Paul Gauguin cruises that I need to remember for the future and talking to other cruisers. I had booked my cruise on 10/8/23 and cancelled this cruise one day after the booking in which the charge was placed on my credit card. The cancellation was based on medical reasons as I really wanted to go. I received confirmation of the full refund as per policy on 10/9/23. All good. As of today, no refund received. I called PG customer service because my credit card payment including the charge will be delinquent in a couple of days. They said, "Didn't anyone tell you it could take 60 days to receive the refund?" So, I had to call and ask my credit card company to dispute the charge so I wouldn't have to pay to avoid a delinquency. Not a good policy by PG. I will have a difficult time booking a cruise in the future or recommending PG to other future cruisers if PG handles business this way.

I feel scammed. We canceled our trip 7 months in advance due to a serious medical condition. Our travel agent claims we owe $800 in fees and they refuse to return over $ 4000 in insurance reimbursement. I agreed to the $800 in fees, however, keeping all the insurance reimbursement is wrong. I spoke to the insurance company Allianz and they claim we get 100% back. They haven't even been paid yet. So, the Paul Gauguin travel company still has the money in their possession. We continue to call Paul Gauguin however, they still refuse to return any insurance money. Be very careful dealing with this company.

We are in the process of trying to book a cruise but the PG customer service is a joke. They are terrible! They are incompetent, disorganized and inept. We are using a travel agent who is likewise unable to get proper information from PG customer service. They contradict themselves between what they tell us and what is on their web site. (web site says day room and transfers are included but they told our rep they were not included.) It feels a little deceptive; bait and switch. They added a post excursion to our trip which we didn't ask for (at $3,990 per person!) and we're having to wait for them to remove this from our invoice. We have to wait to book our flights to California (where we board the flight to our final destination) because we still don't have the final confirmed costs or flight times / days. I know this first flight to California will be more expensive because of the significant delays in getting the needed information from PG. From now on we will stick with Viking - PG customer service sucks and if I could give them zero stars I certainly would.

Prior to the pandemic (September 2019) we scheduled a 7 day Society Island cruise for September of 2020 on Paul Gauguin Cruise Line (PG). The small luxury cruise ship seemed like an idyllic way to experience the islands. True to form (as advertised) the booking and planning process was easy. Unfortunately, the compliments stop there! In May, we were told we could rebook at 2021 rates, which were increased by $600 per person from our 2020 booking. Our other option would be to receive a refund for our current deposit. We opted for the refund, given that PG would not honor our current sailing rate!!! Three months later and we are still trying to get the refund from PG!! Mr. Dhadda who would be our only contact originally said a refund would be granted. A few weeks later, it was that PG had to approve our refund. A few weeks after that it was the refund had been granted and it will take 30 to 45 days to receive it via the credit card used to pay for the deposit. Today, the message is that it will take 120 days to receive the refund. Plus, my travel agent, Exquisite (NOT) Travel Agency, says if I want further information don't call him contact PG at some basic customer service email address. We don't even get a direct PG contact!! Shameful! All of this in the name of COVID-19!!! I understand delays due to the pandemic. However, since a reasonable consistent message has not been provided, I find myself writing this review. All of this is incredibly disappointing, has cost us hours trying to track down a reasonable and equitable settlement, and suggests PG is simply insolvent!! This was supposed to be a highly customer service oriented organization. That is far from the truth! PG should have ensured our agency had the correct information from the very beginning! While I understand things can go array with a third party agency, at the end of the day you (PG) own your supply chain! Any travel agency is your supply chain. As to our agent, perhaps some customer service orientation training is required! Instead our agent simply said, ah - screw you, I'm tired of your inquiries use this generic email and see if you get any better response. Not the way to keep repeat business. And no, we won't be repeats! Think twice before ever booking with PG!!! And simply never book with Paul Dhadda... Not so Exquisite Travel Agency.

My cruise scheduled for April 2020 was cancelled by the company, I had paid the entire price of the cruise. The contract calls for a full refund. To date I am still owed $8139. I was able to get a refund from the credit card company for a some of the money paid. The company refuses to acknowledge that I am still owed the balance. Do not use this company.

Photo of Callie C.

BEWARE of this 'luxury' cruise line! Terribly misleading service with much French attitude. Oldest, rundown ship ever at sea with average food and coldest crew ever on Deck 4. Read all the 1-star reviews at CruiseCritic.com to see safety, hygiene and other complaints. VP Sandy Stevens offers no apologies or gestures of compensation at all regardless of documentation with photos of disgraceful experiences both on and off the ship, due to their 'contract' which is basically a middle finger up in your face.
